  2. 'The boys were outstanding' - Ricepublished at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    FT: Hamilton 1-1 Rangers

Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland Hamilton manager Brian Rice, is a happy man.

"I'm proud not just of the result but the manner that we played and the bravery we showed," he said.

"I wanted to start on the front foot and make sure we weren't defending deep and we were right up for it from the first minute to the last. I thought the boys were outstanding.

"The message to the players was start the game like you mean it. Don't wait to go behind and then play let's go man for man against Rangers, let's go and press them as high up as we can.

"When Rangers get that goal you get that feeling 'oh here we go again' but I think the belief they showed in each other and the never say die attitude - it's what we are going to need from now to the end of the season."

  3. Draw a 'relief' for Rangers - Gerrardpublished at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    FT: Hamilton 1-1 Rangers

Speaking to Sky Sports, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wasn't best pleased.

"Disappointed in our all round performance," he said.

"I should be happy to take a point from this game because we didn't deserve anything. Credit to Brian and his team because I'm going away with relief to get a point here. My players have been brilliant all season but I've got no praise for them today.

"The only reason we took the lead was because of our goalkeeper. When we scored we thought we'd got away with one, we weren't at the races today and I've got a lot to look through in that game. I've got to look at myself too in terms of the decisions I've made.

"Today was not acceptable today we haven't given the fans a performance to be happy about. We're still in a fantastic place but we need to learn from this."

  6. 'The worst I've seen us' - McGregorpublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    FT: Hamilton 1-1 Rangers

"Rubbish, for most of the game we were very poor. It's the worst I've seen us," Rangers goalkeeper and man of the match Allan McGregor tells Sky Sports.

"We didn't look like we wanted to win the game. Hamilton were the better team all credit to them but it's not good enough from us at all.

“A good bit of play for our goal but apart from that, not a lot you can take from it."

  7. 'Never write Accies off'published at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Quote Message

Everybody, every season, writes Hamilton off. We should know by now to never write them off. You've got to give Brian Rice credit going with two up top, they posed Rangers a question and worked their socks off. McGregor had to be brilliant today that's how good Accies were.

  8. McGregor (finally) beatenpublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    HT: Hamilton 1-1 Rangers

It was slightly cruel on Allan McGregor that the equaliser may well go down as an own goal by him. He was the reason Hamilton didn't win this game, with a string of excellent saves.

  9. 'Incredible mentality from Accies'published at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    FT: Hamilton 1-1 Rangers

    Billy Dodds
Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

McGregor was man of the match even for the equalising goal he makes a worldie save just before it. Accies have shown an incredible mentality and desire, even though it's just a point that's the sort of result that could give them belief for the rest of the season.

  10. Persistent Hamiltonpublished at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    FT: Hamilton 1-1 Rangers

It's all very Hamilton, isn't it. Lose a big game to a relegation rival, and when all looks adown and out, they produce a big performance against the league's best side.

It's now a cliche, but you can NEVER write them off.

  11. Hamilton get 'just rewards'published at 13:54 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Hamilton 1-1 Rangers

    Derek Ferguson
Former Rangers and Hamilton midfielder on Sportsound

    Quote Message

Just rewards. They've kept it alive and they've kept believing. McGregor pulls off another unbelievable save but Callachan follows up. It's no less than Accies deserve.

  12. FULL-TIME - Hamilton 1-1 Rangerspublished at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

Well, that was a dramatic ending. Fair play to Hamilton, they never gave up and got their rewards at the end.

Arguably Rangers' worst performance of the season, but it's unlikely to make much difference to their title charge.

  13. goal

GOAL - Hamilton 1-1 Rangerspublished at 94 mins

    Ross Callachan

Didn't see that coming! A deserved equaliser for Hamilton.

A fantastic cross is met with vigour by Bruce Anderson, but Allan McGregor springs to action again. This time, though, Callachan is on hand to squeeze the ball home.

    Neil McCann

    Quote Message

I can't hide my sympathy for Brian Rice here, he must be absolutely devastated. He's walking up and down the touchline kicking the astroturf in frusration. They've been the better team for most of this game.

  15. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Hamilton 0-1 Rangers

Hamilton are still giving it a good go, and have put a few balls in the box. Rangers, though, about to knock another win off on their path to the title!

  16. 'Davis and Jack vital to Rangers'published at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Hamilton 0-1 Rangers

    Derek Ferguson

    Quote Message

The thing we've learned today is that Rangers can't start games without Davis and Jack. I know they've had issues playing on plastic surfaces but they're so vital to Rangers earning this title.

  17. 'Pure class from Davis'published at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Hamilton 0-1 Rangers

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

This is what you get when you put in quality with pace, it's an absolute nightmare for defenders. The ball from Steven Davis to play in Barisic is pure class, he's really added something since he's come on.

  18. CLOSE!published at 82 mins

    Hamilton 0-1 Rangers

Another fantastic cross by Borna Barisic for Kemar Roofe there, but the striker can't steer the ball in from close range.#

Almost two in quick succession for Rangers.

  19. goal

GOAL - Hamilton 0-1 Rangerspublished at 79 mins

    Brian Easton (own goal)

It's a very cruel blow for Hamilton, but Rangers produce from their best move of the game.

A few neat exchanges and Borna Barisic is set free down the left, and his ball across the face is touched by Accies goalkeeper Ryan Fulton.

It deflects off Brian Easton and into the net.

  20. 'Helander lucky to stay on'published at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Hamilton 0-0 Rangers

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

I think Helander's so lucky there because there's no attempt to play the ball whatsoever, if Goldson isn't covering there it's a certain red card. What a run from Jamie Hamilton though.
