Shaun G: Pickford could and perhaps should have stopped Silva's goal. He's always jumping up and down on the spot, shuffling his feet. He never seems to have a steady base to dive from

Richard Browne: Not sure how you could be considered for ANY National team letting that in.

    Everton 1-3 Manchester City

Just what you need to see if you're an Everton defender - Kevin de Bruyne comes on for Raheem Sterling.

Just seen a replay from behind Bernardo Silva for his goal and Jordan Pickford will be questioned. The Portuguese hit the drive really sweetly but it wasn't right in the corner. Could have done better?

    Bernardo Silva (77 mins)

It's another cracking goal from the champions elect. Too soon?

Manchester City just pop the ball around a tiring Everton, Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez combine, Bernardo Silva runs away from Gylfi Sigurdsson to get the ball on the edge of the area.

He dummies an attempted block from Michael Keane and lashes in a low shot which Jordan Pickford gets hands to but can't keep out.

    Everton 1-2 Manchester City

Jordan Pickford has played the most passes for Everton tonight which perhaps indicates the pattern of play. Seamus Coleman has moved into a midfield role to try and stop Joao Cancelo.

They'll have to get the ball first. City monopolising it at the moment.

Everton rallied and drew level swiftly when they fell behind in the first half. Can they do so again?

    Riyad Mahrez (63 mins)

    Maybe not!

That is a screamer from Riyad Mahrez! What a fine goal.

Bernardo Silva has the ball wide right, Mahrez pulls inside him and Silva tees it into his path. There is so much to do but the Algerian does it, leaning back and curling in first time, around a defender and in off the far post.

Jordan Pickford no chance. And a really, really pleasing CLUNK off the post too.

I'd imagine we may be about to find out just how fit Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero are.

City can bring on the big guns if they need to in the last quarter.

  13. CLOSE!published at 61 mins

    Everton 1-1 Manchester City

An hour gone. Everton defending well. City attacking sharply. I've just had a fish finger sandwich for my tea. All is well.

That is a chance! Rodri gets up well on the six-yard line to attack a corner and plants it wide.

    Everton 1-1 Manchester City

It must be exhausting facing this Manchester City side at the moment. Worked from left to right and up and down and back again. Everton stay well drilled though and Rodri ends up clipping a poor ball over the top and out.

    Everton 1-1 Manchester City

It's two months and two days since Manchester City failed to win a football match. Gabriel Jesus is found in the area and shoots wide.

Good Everton counter, started again by Richarlison, as Alex Iwobi finds Gylfi Sigurdsson driving through the middle.

He spins and shoots in one movement but it's charged down. Very tough chance.

  17. CLOSE!published at 51 mins

    Everton 1-1 Manchester City

A lengthy spell of City pressure ends with Joao Cancelo chipping into the area, it's nudged on to Bernardo Silva on the right and his technique is sublime to crash in a shot into the turf. It's an awkward bounce for Jordan Pickford but he meets it well and pushes away. Good stop.

  18. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Everton 1-1 Manchester City

Good hold-up play again from Richarlison to spin Ruben Dias and win a foul. Everton need a foothold.

  19. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Everton 1-1 Manchester City

Joao Cancelo, who is not a left-back at all tonight, mainly playing in the midfield with Aymeric Laporte covering across, plays a sharp one-two and nearly gets an early shot off.
