Tom Gregory: The money argument in football is so tedious. It’s the entertainment business. It’s like saying ‘well obviously Mission Impossible is bound to top the box office, they can afford Tom Cruise’

If this one stays a draw, City would have an eight-point lead over Manchester United and Leicester.

Everton would be two points behind Liverpool, with a game in hand.

Lawro is predicting a 2-0 Manchester City win tonight.

In the league table based on his results, City are top and unbeaten with 20 wins and four draws from 24 games, including tonight, and in a three way scrap for the 'title' with Manchester United and Chelsea.

Just as in reality, Liverpool are not in the race in Lawro's universe either - he even tipped them to lose earlier in the campaign - but they are at least doing better than Everton, who are joint-11th.

Richarlison is having a fine game up front. Despite what I said earlier about Everton missing DCL's hold-up play. He has just twice shrugged off two men to keep the ball under control.

Though he is now booked for kicking the ball away.

It's a high-class game. Richarlison dances inside Ruben Dias and is nearly in on goal, his touch just got away from him.

I didn't bring it up, to be fair. Everton of course have an annual budget of £30k and their players have to pay subs to get a game.

Re 20:44 - Is it that time again? We must be doing well if the "but money" comments are back

    Daniel, Manchester

Don's (20.44) right. When City turned up at the Amex for our first ever PL game, their back 5 cost more than our entire squad, training ground and stadium combined.

There aren't many goals in the Premier League that you'd back yourself to score but that is one. Richarlison scored almost by accident.

City come right down the other end and Phil Foden slaps a volley straight at Jordan Pickford.

    Richarlison (38 mins)

Well I didn't see that coming! Everton forge a neat move down the right, Seamus Coleman stands up a brilliant cross to find Lucas Digne.

He sidefoots a volley across goal, it beats Ederson, hits the post and hits Richarlison and goes in.

The Brazilian was about four inches out. Onside as well, goal stands!

As it stands Manchester City have a 10-point cushion over Manchester United. Would take some collapse from here, but to be honest they look like the best team in the division by a country mile.

    Phil Foden (32 mins)

    Speaking of talented youngsters...

To say that has been coming would be an understatement. Riyad Mahrez's cross is a good one, Michael Keane heads it out but only as far as Phil Foden.

He winds up and smacks in a powerful drive, it hits Seamus Coleman and gives Jordan Pickford zero chance. Deflects the opposite way and in.

    Everton 0-0 Manchester City

It's stating the obvious to suggest that Everton are missing Dominic Calvert-Lewin but they really are missing him as an out ball. Under such pressure, DCL would at least be able to hold the ball up and give them an outlet. The ball is just coming back every time they do clear their lines.

    Everton 0-0 Manchester City

Manchester City are so high up the pitch that their last man, Ruben Dias, is almost within shooting range of the Everton goal. Play compressed into a 35-yard box.
