    Leeds 0-0 Southampton

Leeds yet to work Southampton, Patrick Bamford goes down rather easily in the box after coming shoulder to shoulder with big Jannik Vestergaard but no way is that a penalty.

Not even VAR can find a reason to award that.

Leeds have relaid the pitch but this is cutting up all over the place, with players slipping all over the shop.

Southampton are stifling Leeds at the moment, the hosts are struggling to get any rhythm going.

Going to plan for Ralph Hasenhuttl so far.

Matt: Southampton have only scored 3 goals in their last 5 away games in the league. Only scored 14 in 11 away all season. Not sure benching the best forward at your club is the solution for that.

    Leeds 0-0 Southampton

Southampton are indeed going man for man on Leeds, really pushing up on the home players and exerting plenty of pressure.

Ralph will go toe to toe tonight. Goals for both teams. Will be great for the neutral. Fresh legs on our bench.

Definitely an open game...can go either way. That said, fancy Saints, given their recent cameo of consistency.

  9. CLOSE!published at 8 mins

    Leeds 0-0 Southampton

Southampton are seeing chances fall their way, another they fail to take.

This time it is a brilliant solo run from young Nathan Tella, leaving Liam Cooper for dead and he has plenty of space on the edge of the area, but curls a strike straight at goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Jannik Vestergaard has his head in his hands as he trots back into his position at the back.

He knows that was a glorious chance, just didn't get a full enough contact on the ball with his header.

Warning signs for Leeds already, where was the marking?!

James Ward-Prowse, so dangerous from free-kicks, whips the ball in to the area with pace, big centre-half Jannik Vestergaard escapes his marker but plants his header wide of the far post.

    Leeds 0-0 Southampton

We know about Leeds' vulnerabilities from set-pieces.

Southampton have a free-kick down the right edge of the box and a chance for James Ward-Prowse to swing one in.

    Have a go!

A swift Leeds move sees the hosts open up the Saints backline with ease and Patrick Bamford has space on the edge of the area.

Instead of having a go himself, he tries to play in Tyler Roberts but the pass is too heavy and goes out of play.

A real waste from a good position.

Evan Pritchard: I fancy a 3-3 draw, with hat-tricks from Bamford & Ings. Why, yes, I do have them both in fantasy team.

This could be anything tonight. Could be 0-0 or we could lose another one 9-0. Really ought to be beating promotion minnows like these!

  19. Differing styles - Hasenhuttlpublished at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2021

    Leeds v Southampton (18:00 GMT)

    Southampton

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl tells Sky Sports: "You have seen our last game and how intense it was and now it is our most intense game of the season with their running stats, you need fresh players on the pitch. We have a few lads on the bench who can help if necessary.

"Leeds' is a way of football not everyone is playing, it is very man orientated and new. Let's see how it works.

"I have no need to explain our way of playing football, we are orientated on defending, not one on one in duels and ours is completely opposite to theirs, Marcelo Bielsa is looking to capitalise all over the pitch.

"The next four games are crucial for us, we had a very good record on the road and have to come back to this."

  20. 'There are no easy games in the Premier League'published at 17:50 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2021

    Leeds v Southampton (18:00 GMT)

    Leeds United

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa tells Sky Sports: "The change is made because we can count on Diego Llorente again and I am in agreement that the performance was good in the last game. It is necessary in this moment and we hope he can show the qualities that brought him here.

"There are no easy games in the Premier League, all the teams have highs and lows and I have the sensation that Southampton are recovering the levels of earlier in the season.

"I am not the best qualified to describe the opponent's style, I will leave that to others who are better qualified."
