    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

A Celtic corner goes all the way to the edge of the box and turns into a pass for Aberdeen's Florian Kamberi.

But the Swiss striker ends up running the ball into touch. Celtic well on top so far.

    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

A deep cross from Greg Taylor finds Odsonne Edouard stretching at the back post, but it was difficult for the Frenchman to hit it cleanly and it goes wildly off target.

Both sides have a real positivity about them right now that will hopefully deliver a positive approach to tonight.

St Mirren have backed manager Jim Goodwin for the progress he’s overseen with a new long-term contract as they look to push further and reach the top six.

Hamilton must be buoyed by superb displays in recent games. They know a win tonight would go a long way if they are to defy the doubters once again.

A great night for football under the floodlights.

Who's backing Aberdeen to score tonight? Or even win?

Or will it be win number five on the spin for Celtic?

  6. 'We want to be a regular top six team' - Goodwinpublished at 17:52 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2021

    St Mirren v Hamilton (18:00)

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm really pleased with the position we are in at the moment. We want be a regular top six team. We've put ourselves in a good position to do it.

"The fear of failure must drive us on. We don't want to be fighting it out in the bottom half of the table for seventh. We probably need 41 points to guarantee sixth place. If we do that, it'll be a fantastic achievement.

"Hamilton, tonight, will be our toughest game for a number of weeks. They are fighting for their lives. They seem to do this every single season. Their last two performances have been outstanding."

    St Mirren v Hamilton (18:00)

Hamilton head coach Brian Rice tells BBC Sportsound: "It's another cup final for us and we should be ready for it.

"The last game is history in my mind. We're underdogs most of the time, so we use everything to our advantage.

"If you don't have desire yo shouldn't be in the job. I'm looking for that again tonight. There's always something to prove at Hamilton."

    St Mirren v Hamilton (18:00)

As always, Hamilton have pulled a couple of stellar performances out of the fire to lift themselves off the foot of the table.

A draw with Rangers was backed up at the weekend by their now customary win against rivals Motherwell.

Bizarrely, they're looking to reclaim the three points they were awarded for this fixture earlier in the season, when St Mirren were punished for Covid rule breaches.

Victory would take them up to tenth and three points clear of Ross County. A lot at stake.

    St Mirren v Hamilton (18:00)

St Mirren fans received the news this week that manager Jim Goodwin had signed a new three-year deal after his good work this term.

The 39-year-old has slowly transformed the Paisley club from relegation scrappers, to top-six contenders.

Livingston and Rangers are the only current top-six sides that St Mirren have to face before the split, which means they have a great chance to secure their highest top-flight finish since 1985.

  12. Unwanted record looms for Aberdeenpublished at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2021

    Celtic v Aberdeen (18:00)

If Aberdeen don't score tonight, it will be the first time in their history they have gone six games without finding the net. It's mark of how difficult 2021 has been for them, with just one win in their nine games since the turn of the year.

Manager Derek McInnes has received the public backing of the board. But if results don't improve, that resolve will be tested. Beating Celtic would be a big step in the right direction.

    Celtic v Aberdeen (18:00)

Celtic are going for a fifth straight league win tonight, the kind of form we've been more used to in recent years.

However, there is an uncertain mood at the club with chief executive Peter Lawwell on his way out, and seemingly a revamp of their football operations underway.

Neil Lennon said this week he is "comfortable" with his position amid all of this. Only those at the club know what will happen next.

    St Mirren v Hamilton (18:00)

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin makes three changes to the side that earned a 0-0 draw away to Aberdeen on Saturday.

The injured Jake Doyle-Hayes, Ryan Flynn and Dylan Connolly all make way for Cammy MacPherson, Kyle McAllister and Jon Obika.

As for the away side, Hamilton head coach Brian Rice understandably names the same side that secured a stunning 4-1 win away to Lanarkshire rivals Motherwell at the weekend.

  15. Brown dropped by Celtic; Taylor back for Donspublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2021

    Celtic v Aberdeen (18:00)

Celtic make three changes following Sunday's 2-1 win at St Johnstone with Stephen Welsh, Ismaila Soro and Albian Ajeti coming into the side in place of Shane Duffy, club captain Scott Brown and Tom Rogic, all three of whom are on the bench. Callum McGregor captains the side.

Just one change for Aberdeen, who drew 0-0 at home to St Mirren on Saturday. Ash Taylor bolsters the backline with Niall McGinn dropping to the bench.
