  1. 'Fabulous finish'published at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2021

    HT: Bournemouth 0-2 Southampton

    Tony Pulis
Former Stoke manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Great finish, one on one with Steve Cook and he's just stopped him, moved him and stopped him again, and Cook has committed himself but as he's done that Nathan Redmond has had his final touch and what a great finish, top corner, fabulous finish.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:03 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2021

    Bournemouth 0-2 Southampton

A lot of work to do for Bournemouth. Southampton with a good lead at the break after having a goal disallowed for a marginal offside earlier too.

  3. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 0-2 Southamptonpublished at 45+1 min

    Nathan Redmond

Jonathan Woodgate is shaking his head because the defence is nowhere...

It comes from a throw-in which is chested on by Stuart Armstrong. Nathan Redmond does the rest - weaving through the middle and into the box before he sees off Steve Cook and fires it into the roof of the net.

Brilliant solo finish but where was the Bournemouth defence?

  4. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton

Dominic Solanke beats Jannik Vestergaard to it on the right, is waiting for support but nobody is there.

Phillip Billing comes across eventually but Solanke has already turned back inside and loses the ball.

    Frustrating.

  5. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton

Jack Stacey tries to squeeze one through on the right but it's blocked. It comes back to Jack Wilshere to switch it but Diego Rico's route on the far side is blocked off by Jan Bednarek.

    Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton

Kyle Walker-Peters reads the pass inside and slides across to make the tackle. He wins possession back for Southampton but won't reach the ball over the top from James Ward-Prowse.

    Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton

Here was that disallowed goal for Southampton earlier. No complaints on that one from Moussa Djenepo though.

That was the first pass that they got past Bournemouth's line in the last ten minutes. Two passes in the final third and they end up scoring a goal. That's the threat - you've got to get behind teams' defences. Two great passes and a great finish.

  9. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 0-1 Southamptonpublished at 37 mins

    Moussa Djenepo

    VAR won't rule this out.

Lovely goal from Southampton. Ryan Bertrand has space to run into as he receives it in the middle and turns.

He weaves in and out, waiting for the run of Moussa Djenepo, before slipping it through to him perfectly in the box.

Djenepo takes advantage of a slip from Jack Stacey and coolly slots it into the far corner.

  10. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Southampton

Dominic Solanke does really well on the right to shrug off a defender, turns sharply and get a yard of space.

He could shoot - the angle is tight - but he opts to cut it back for Rodrigo Riquelme. It's intercepted just in time.

Former Stoke manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Southampton had a really good a spell where they were playing the ball very quickly through the pitch and in the last few minutes they've really slowed the ball and the passing down. They need to play forward a bit quicker through the lines and they will cause Bournemouth problems.

Sometimes you get very complacent if you have a lot of the ball and they have seen a lot of the ball. Bournemouth have been happy to drop if and leave the space in front so Southampton just need to step it up a bit.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Southampton

Smart play from Dominic Solanke to draw a foul from Kyle Walker-Peters near the left touchline.

Diego Rico swings the free-kick in deep but Ryan Bertrand hooks it away.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Southampton

Bournemouth are just starting to see more of the ball now.

Rodrigo Riquelme is direct through the middle, plays a one-two with Dominic Solanke but is off balance as he drags the shot.

It's fairly comfortable for Fraser Forster.

  14. CLOSE!published at 32 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Southampton

Oooh! This is a chance, albeit a difficult one.

The ball comes over to Steve Cook on the right side of the box. He absolutely smashes it back across the centre and Rodrigo Riquelme is unmarked.

He has to hit it first time but it comes at him so fast he can't keep it down. Decent effort.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 30 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Southampton

Jan Bednarek is in the book.

Phillip Billing flicks it on smartly for Arnaut Danjuma and he's clattered into by the Southampton defender.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Southampton

Arnaut Danjuma and Phillip Billing try to work something at the other end but a one-two inside the box doesn't come off.

Bournemouth are playing with two holding midfielders today - they've just got to make sure that out of possession they keep moving. Good teams will just exploit that if you're just going to let one player drift around - Southampton have exploited that down the right hand side already.

  18. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Southampton

James Ward-Prowse goes for goal this time. He gets enough on it but he miles out and Asmir Begovic is watching all the way.

  19. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Southampton

James Ward-Prowse fizzes an excellent ball in from a free-kick on the left. Che Adams is going for it but there's a Bournemouth header before Arnaut Danjuma clears it.

Moussa Djenepo then wins another free-kick in an almost idenfical position.
