I'd say James Ward-Prowse has been outstanding. The way he's gone about closing people down, the qualities of his deliveries into the box. He's trying to prove a point that he can add this to Southgate's team.

For the first time in 25 years, a major international tournament will be played in Britain.

To mark the occasion, the BBC Sport website is providing two special live text rewinds before the start of the delayed Euro 2020.

These will be all-day affairs, covering all the best action, reaction, culture and colour from two past European Championships.

The first rewind, on Monday, focuses on Euro '96 - held in England - followed the next day by one on Euro 2016.

Both get under way at 09:00 BST.

Counter attacks from Romania have been a problem for England but England have been very dangerous. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish have been linking up very well. Calvert-Lewin crashing a header against the bar and Jadon Sancho also hitting the bar but England have been promising going forward.

It is the woodwork that keeps the scoresheet blank as England create the better chances in a low-key first half in which Romania have also looked a threat when given the opportunity.

James Ward-Prowse making a very good impression and Jadon Sancho also a threat.

England hit the crossbar twice in that first half and Romania had chances too but it remains goalless at the break.

That's a worrying sign again. It's just far too easy to get in at England.

He just runs and runs!

Sorescu Deian Cristian makes his way up from right-back, playing a one-two with a team-mate and with Luke Shaw out of position, the gap opens up for a low, rasping drive which Sam Johnstone keep out with his leg.

Nicolae Stanciu blasts over the rebound but the ease at which England were cut apart at the back will be a concern.

The pitch invader has had the biggest cheer so far.

There will be a little bit of nervousness from the newer players in the squad, you have to take that into account. Maybe Sam Johnstone needs to be more vocal with the back four and talking to them. Overall it's been a good performance from England. The chances created have been very positive.

It started in and around the half way line they just progressed nicely up the pitch. As Jack Grealish went into the penalty area a little backheel into the feet of Jadon Sancho who just tried to curl it into the top right corner. Again crashing against the crossbar but a lovely bit of play between those two.

That one will keep the Manchester United fans interested.

And sniff he does, curling a sumptuous strike from just inside the area against the crossbar.
