  1. 'Southgate shows his ruthless streak'published at 18:25 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    England 1-0 Andorra

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Wembley

Gareth Southgate was pretty ruthless there. I feel a bit for Patrick Bamford. He didn't get lots of opportunities and I thought his hold up play was quite good, but he was outnumbered really against a team that has shown very little intent.

    England 1-0 Andorra

Harry Kane immediately shows why he is a very different player to Patrick Bamford. He picks the ball up near halfway and whips a cross into the box towards where the man he replaced would have been. Andorra's keeper claims it.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 65 mins

    England 1-0 Andorra

Jordi Rubio is the latest Andorra player booked, for a foul on Bukayo Saka. That is three visiting players with yellows now.

  4. Postpublished at 63 mins

    England 1-0 Andorra

Immediately after the sibs, England look more dynamic and release Bukayo Saka. His effort is saved and the follow-up is fired over.

The flag was up for offside, though. Against Saka.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 61 mins

    England 1-0 Andorra

On come Harry Kane, Jack Grealish and Mason Mount. Time to get serious.

Jude Bellingham's game is done, with Reece James also coming off. Patrick Bamford's debut is also over. A big moment for him but maybe didn't get the service he would have liked.

    England 1-0 Andorra

Over half an hour has passed since Andorra's one and only shot. They have had 9% of the ball since the restart.

    England 1-0 Andorra

England have subs ready. One of them is Harry Kane.

    England 1-0 Andorra

If you're a fan of long periods of possession on the edge of the box, this is absolutely the game for you.

Trent Alexander-Arnold looks to remedy that with a curling shot from the right, but it blocked before it can cause any danger.

Soon after, Jude Bellingham's low ball flies through the corridor or uncertainty and out for a goal-kick.

Liam: Bellingham aside, this team have looked very average and very much a B team.

Dean Plumley: Bamford must be getting frustrated, so many runs but no killer pass.

Allan Done: It will be one of Andorra's greatest footballing achievements if they can keep England to the single goal.

It's the speed of passing. Needs to be quicker, crisper. Andorra finding it too easy to reorganise.

England try to go a bit more route one with a ball up to Patrick Bamford that he nods down to Jesse Lingard, who turns and fires over.

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live at Wembley

You can see the gulf in class but England are finding it tricky to break Andorra down.

  12. Alexander-Arnold midfield trial overpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    England 1-0 Andorra

    Alex Howell
    BBC Sport at Wembley Stadium

It looks as though the trial of Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield is over. He's currently at right-back and Recce James has swapped with him and is in centre midfield.

Oh. Nearly. Bukayo Saka is released down the right by a lovely first-time pass from Jordan Henderson. The Arsenal man's low ball is designed for Patrick Bamford to finish from close range but in dives Christian Garcia to deny him.

  14. Postpublished at 51 mins

    England 1-0 Andorra

Every England player but Sam Johnstone is in the Andorra half. To be honest, the home keeper could be sat in row Y if he wanted.

  15. Postpublished at 50 mins

    England 1-0 Andorra

Reece James, like Trent Alexander-Arnold is such a forward-looking full-back. That was a superb effort. He cuts inside and just curls his shot. Would have been a fine goal.

  16. 'One heck of a strike'published at 18:08 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    England 1-0 Andorra

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Wembley

That was one heck of a strike by Reece James. The keeper was floundering - he was nowhere near it.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 49 mins

    England 1-0 Andorra

Boom! Reece James leaves the crossbar rattling with a stroked effort from range. So close to England's second.

It fell to Bamford on the half volley. He just needed to stroke it in but he swiped at it.

Abdul Razak: Playing Trent in midfield - interesting.

Gareth Hubbard: It's like a training session. Let's liven it up England.

Running Gardener: When the cheers are louder for paper airplanes, you know it’s a bore fest.

The flag is up as England send the ball into the box. I think it's for a foul on the keeper.

It spares Patrick Bamford's blushes as he slices a shot high and wide unchallenged inside the box.
