Everybody needs to up their quality individually and collectively this half.

Fantastic cross from Rubin Colwill to the near post, but no Wales players read his intentions.

The penalty early on I thought would settle nerves and they were for the first 25 minutes.

I thought Gunts was unfortunate for the penalty and didn't know the lad was there and it's gone downhill from there.

Half-time has come at a good time.

Positive start from Wales. Dan James gets a cross in, but Belarus clear.

    Belarus 2-1 Wales

    We are back under way.

No changes for Wales, perhaps surprisingly.

I think Robert Page needs to give them a few home truths and tell them it's by far from good enough. The first 20 minutes were good but a mistake from Gunter who you'd expect more from, and from that moment they've crumbled and been terrible in and out of possession, looking laboured and slow.

Levitt is the best passer of the ball in the squad, he's got a great range of passing so maybe they'll look to him off the bench. I do think the pitch is making it slower and we've seen that. Even when we were on top we weren't seeing the crispness we'd have liked.

I think a change of formation to a back three with two attacking wing backs might help for Wales. Take off Gunter and bring on a more attacking player?

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Belarus 2-1 Wales

What a strange half for Wales.

They were very comfortable at 1-0, but since they conceded a penalty they have been all over the shop and could be further behind.

As former England manager Graham Taylor once said, "this, this is a test."

    See you in a few.

Two minutes added on. Half-time needed for Wales.

  12. CLOSE!published at 45 mins

    Belarus 2-1 Wales

    Another massive chance!

Wales give it away again and Danila Klimovich curls the ball just inches wide of goal with Danny Ward beaten.

Wales totally dominated for the best part of 30 minutes, yet they could be 4-1 down now.

Football is a funny old game.

    Belarus 2-1 Wales

Wales having some possession now, but Belarus look organised and compact.

Wales have given them something to defend and hold onto, the second half is going to be tricky.

I really wish I could be more positive.

It goes without saying this is where you miss a Kieffer Moore because he is strong and will hold his own with the centre-backs.

Also the problem with having a depleted squad, is it seriously hampers your ability to pack your bench with game-changing players.

It's got a bit scrappy, Belarus have grown in confidence and got a bit braver and a bit better.

Dafydd is right, this suddenly feels like a qualifier from the John Toshack era.

13 players out the squad and some very, very questionable defending.

    Belarus 2-1 Wales

    Dafydd Pritchard
    BBC Sport Wales

After an ideal start, this has quickly turned into an embarrassment for Wales.

Centre-backs James Lawrence and Chris Mepham in particular are getting run ragged.

This is like the bad old days of following Wales.
