    England 5-0 Albania

England have stopped playing and they have to be careful not to concede at the back.

Sokol Cikalleshi goes for an overhead kick inside the box and as John Stones and Reece James both have their eyes on the ball, they collide into each other at full speed.

You could hear the thud and both have been hurt badly.

  2. Thriller in Klagenfurtpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

More action in Austria. The home side are level against Israel, through Louis Schaub's goal. 2-2 the score.

And Denmark have added to their lead against the Faroe Islands. Substitute Jacob Bruun Larsen has made it 2-0.

Tell you what, that roar for Jack Grealish was deafening.

Caught the journalist in front of me by surprise too - he closed his eyes and grimaced at the ferocity of it.

Awww, no no no no no noooo.

We've got a Mexican wave going round.

It's properly picked up momentum too.

San Marino, who are positioned 210 out of 210 in the world.

Just shy of the hour mark...

And just to spell it out, this victory will not be enough to take England to Qatar.

Poland are 3-1 up in Andorra so Gareth Southgate's will need a point against San Marino.

  8. Action in Austriapublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

Two goals so far in the second-half. Both have come in Austria.

The first was a penalty, scored by Marco Arnautovic to draw the home side level. Soon after, though, the visitors retake the lead with Dor Peretz scoring the goal.

Spoke to an Albanian journalist as I was getting a half-time cuppa.

We gave that awkward meeting-a-stranger-for-the-first-time smile to each other, under our masks.

"Not going well, eh?" I said.

He laughed and replied, "England too good, too good."

Emile Smith Rowe, whose name looks like it's missing a hyphen, is out on the touchline and is getting some instructions from the England coaching staff.

Perfect time to give him a debut, 5-0 up and with the opposition there for the taking.

Rob Green basically saying it's a second half for stat padding.

    I'm all for it.

    England 5-0 Albania

    Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

England are well on their way to a comfortable win. They have come out and been a little bit flat now in this second half. It is very difficult to criticise but as a team you have to get your personal motivations now - opportunities to score and opportunities to get your stats up.

  13. CLOSE!published at 52 mins

    England 5-0 Albania

Jordan Henderson isn't a regular starter in this England XI but is going to give Gareth Southgate a headache after this game.

Another lovely pick out by the Liverpool captain, fizzing the ball into the feet of Harry Kane on the edge of the box, but the Tottenham striker blazes over.

Fair play to the Albanian supporters in the corner, they're still chanting and banging their drum.

    Those that are left anyway.

The best thing about that third Harry Kane goal was the gasp from the crowd when they saw him leap into the air.

There was a moment when they held their breath before screaming in celebration, almost in disbelief at what they had seen.

    England 5-0 Albania

Work to do for Jordan Pickford at the start of the second half.

Sokol Cikalleshi, who has been Albania's most dangerous attacking outlet, lets rip from 30 yards out but it is cleanly grasped by the England numero uno.

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

England had 11 shots in that first half, they scored five.

Can they double the scoreline in the second half?

A cheeky finish here from Frank Lampard 10 years ago today.

Which of you predicted in 2011 that Lampard would be dropping out of the running for the Norwich job in 2021?

Ahhh yeh, perfect hat-trick! Didn't clock that.

Goals were flying in all over the place, hard to keep track.
