  2. Half-time round-uppublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

Just before half-time, the 10 men of Andorra decided to make things interesting against Poland by getting a goal back to make it 2-1.

All they did was poke the visitors, though. Arkadiusz Milik almost instantly made it 3-1.

We've reached the break in games across Europe. In the big game in Group C, top two Italy and Switzerland are drawing 1-1.

In England's group, Hungary lead San Marino 2-0. Northern Ireland still lead Lithuania 1-0.

Brilliant first half from England, every single player played their part. Fantastic pressing, fantastic movement. Just a brilliant half.

Albania have been woeful but you can only beat what is in front of you and England have taken them apart.

Michael Ewer: This (and the last home game) just proves formations don't mean "attacking football".

Tom McCarron: Kane is out of form, England are boring, Southgate is too defensive.

Neil: Memo to Southgate, you can now take @HKane, external off please, we want him back for and scoring for @SpursOfficial, external

    Harry Kane keeps on climbing.

He now has 44 England goals to draw level with Tottenham legend Jimmy Greaves.

Only Gary Lineker (48), Sir Bobby Charlton (49) and Wayne Rooney (52) stand in his way now.

Wow! That was picture perfect from Harry Kane. Six yards out, if you are given the opportunity to volley the ball at the far post at waist height it sums up the Albania defending.

A wonderful acrobatic finish to sum up a wonderful first half for England.

    Harry Kane (HAT-TRICK)

Hat-trick for Harry Kane, AND WHAT A WAY TO DO IT!!

From the resulting corner swung in to the back post by Phil Foden, Kane escapes the challenge of Kastriot Dermaku before leaping high into the London sky to send a devastating scissor kicks past Thomas Strakosha and almost ripping the back of the net.

A five-star performance for England in this first half.

  10. Postpublished at 44 mins

    England 4-0 Albania

I hope England continue to go for it in the second half.

It's not much of a spectacle now and the crowd has fallen flat too but you just want them to keep going instead of being content with what they have.

Finish him, as they said on Mortal Kombat.

England's furthest man forward now is Reece James.

Gareth Southgate letting the shackles off.

  12. CLOSE!published at 42 mins

    England 4-0 Albania

    And there is the hat-tri....NO!

Harry Kane punches the turf as he meets a flying header from Reece James' cross which he sends wide of the far post.

Imagine Gareth Southgate takes him off at half-time. Hah, what a wounder that'd be.

  13. CLOSE!published at 40 mins

    England 4-0 Albania

Albania at sixes and sevens at the back and that's going to be the scoreline soon as well.

That man Raheem Sterling, raised only a few yards down the road from here, is in again.

The boy from Brent reaches the area, looks up to try and pick out Phil Foden at the far post but Kastriot Dermaku gets back to clear.

    Alex Howell

This is a totally different type of performance from England compared to the match against Hungary. They aren't giving Albania a second to think

  15. CLOSE!published at 38 mins

    England 4-0 Albania

England running forward at will. At will.

Raheem Sterling is having the time of his life out there, he chips a cross to the back post for Harry Kane to take it down and arc his right boot over the shot, but he drills it wide of the far post.

    No hat-trick just yet.

  16. A record-breaking yearpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    England 4-0 Albania

England have scored 41 goals in 2021 - their most ever in a calendar year, overtaking their previous most of 39 in 1908.

  17. Postpublished at 37 mins

    England 4-0 Albania

"Don't take me home," is the chant from the England supporters.

You certainly wouldn't want to on this showing.

How many more will they get?

  18. England running riotpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    England 4-0 Albania

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

England look like scoring every time they attack and usually they do. Albania have been torn apart here and all their resistance has gone after they started seemingly determined to rattle England.

  19. Di Lorenzo does the businesspublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    Italy are level!

A clever free-kick routine sees a fake to start with and then an inswinger flung in for Giovanni Di Lorenzo to head home amongst a sea of bodies.

The top two in Group C are level on points again.

  20. Kane goes toppublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2021

    England 4-0 Albania

That goal means Harry Kane is now on 38 goals in 55 competitive games - above Wayne Rooney as having scored more competitive goals for England than anyone else.

Only a matter of time before he breaks the overall record.
