Southampton have been quite comfortable - David McGoldrick has tried to chip the keeper - you can't be cute in this situation, you're bottom of the league with games running out, there's no time for cuteness. You've got to get your foot behind it and finish it with a bit of quality. He chose to be cute and got it all wrong.

Sheffield United want a penalty now. Goalscorer James Ward-Prowse nudges Jayden Bogle over in the box but the Blades player went down easily.

Offside flag goes up as Sheffield United striker David McGoldrick controls a cross and pokes a shot towards goal. Fraser Forster saves and it wouldn't have counted anyway.

Southampton youngster Nathan Tella, who looks a real prospect, has a go from 30 yards but it's straight at Aaron Ramdale.

James Ward-Prowse has been directly involved in 26 Premier League goals under Ralph Hasenhuttl (18 goals, eight assists), twice as many as under any other Southampton manager.

Sheffiled United can't deal with Nathan Tella. Jayden Bogle is the second of the Blades' back five to foul him and get booked. Just a free-kick this time.

Sheffield United try to respond quickly. John Fleck whips a free-kick in but Kean Bryan heads over the bar - and the offside flag pops up so it wouldn't have counted.

Very good penalty - you can see the importance of that pen to this Southampton side. The celebrations, every player bar the goalie comes up to celebrate. You don't expect to see James Ward-Prowse miss from a dead ball really, free kicks or penalties but he sends the keeper the wrong way - important goal.
