  2. 'There is tiredness and fatigue'published at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2021

    FT: Aston Villa 0-0 Wolves

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a game of two halves. The first half was the best we've played since December. Ollie Watkins pulled one back when he could have had a shot. In the second half I thought Wolves were really good. So it's probably a fair result.

"There were some big chances missed. Whenever Jack Grealish is not playing you are always lacking something. I know Wolves are missing Raul Jimenez but they are a good team.

"I keep saying there is a lot of inconsistency around the Premier League at the moment with the exception of Manchester City. There is tiredness and fatigue."

  3. 'We'll keep trying to find solutions'published at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2021

    FT: Aston Villa 0-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo speaking to Sky Sports: "Second half was good we were on front foot, playing much better, more accurate in our passes, the bad things we did in the first half was about the same things. We didn't press well, misplaced passes, not accurate enough. We had chances, it was a thrilling game."

Why the first half was worse than the second: "Something that we have to think and reflect on - the intentions are always good, we want to start well and press and have confidence but we didn't have it today. Credit to Villa, they pushed hard in the first half. Second half was better from us.

"We always try to find solutions and we are going through a period of trying combinations - for this game we tried new things and some almost worked but we'll keep insisting and trying to find new solutions."

On Conor Coady chances: "Surprise, the teams don't look for him. He had good chances, he reads the line of the ball well and we keep insisting. It's a clear one it was very close he probably should've done better.

"Yes we need more from all the players - that was the message at half time we needed more energy more aggressiveness. Villa players were anticipating us and the message was clear and there was a reaction of the players."

On Adama Traore: "He's very talented and every time Traore had the ball there were two or three Villa players on him but our expectations are high because he's very talented.

"We can not always look at what we were and try to find that it doesn't exist, there's always new things and we're trying to grow. Credit to those boys so lets try to keep going to the end there is still a lot of football to be played and we can't be so different from half to half."

    Brighton v Leicester (20:00 GMT)

Brighton have suffered back-to-back Premier League defeats, as many as in their previous 12 matches.

They could lose three successive league fixtures for the first time since November 2019.

Albion have recorded 66 shots, including 20 on target, in their past three games, but only scored once.

    Brighton v Leicester (20:00 GMT)

Brighton are winless in all seven Premier League meetings with Leicester, failing to score in five of them (D2, L5).

Leicester have beaten Brighton twice this season, in the Premier League and FA Cup. They have not earned three wins against the same top-flight team in a season since 1963.

    Brighton v Leicester (20:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Leicester dropped more points in their draw at Burnley on Wednesday but they did not play too badly in that one considering their injury issues.

The Foxes have got another fight on their hands here. Brighton have ended up empty-handed in their past couple of games, against Crystal Palace and West Brom, but they are playing well and sooner or later they are going to get a result that their performance merits, or even get a bit of luck themselves.

    Prediction: 2-0

  7. 'I started to celebrate'published at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2021

    FT: Aston Villa 0-0 Wolves

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins, speaking to Sky Sports: "I couldn't do much more about the shot that hit the bar. I hit that sweet and started to celebrate.

"There were a couple of other opportunities I felt I could have done better. We started the game really positively. One of our main players Jack Grealish is one of the best players in the Premier League.

"Obviously we want him in the team but we're doing well without him. I'm confident we can score goals without him. We came out in the second half with good intensity but we dropped deep and didn't create too much."

  8. 'Massively disappointed'published at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2021

    FT: Aston Villa 0-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves defender Conor Coady speaking to Sky Sports: "I should’ve had two goals - doesn’t matter if my first one was only the other night, I should’ve had two today. First one was a bit unlucky but I should’ve scored, second one it was a good save from their keeper and it was a bit of a scuffed shot form me. We were more like ourselves in the second half and a bit more on the front foot so disappointed. I didn’t see Romain Saiss, I just saw it go over the bar, I just thought try and keep it down but I should score. Massively disappointed.

"We're trying to work on different things, trying to get better, evolve and improve. I’m trying to help the team and I should’ve helped them more with some goals tonight but we keep on working and keep going."

On being better in the second half than the first: "It needs to stop - it's hard to put my finger on it. We spoke at half-time, first half giving balls away and too passive and we were sloppy and not trying to attack so we had some words and second half was better but it needs to stop. If we play like we do in the second half all game then we would get better results.

"This league is about picking up points, we’re improving, a few weeks ago we hadn’t won in nine or 10 but we kept working and that’s the only way to get out of it. We’re not where we want to be but we’re improving and that’s the important thing, we’ll keep working hard."

  10. 'We did not deserve anything'published at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2021

    Sheffield United 0-2 Southampton

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder told BBC Sport: "We didn't deserve anything from the game. They [Southampton] were better. It was a great opportunity but it's been a tough week, playing Liverpool on Sunday and then down to 10 men after 60 minutes in midweek.

"We didn't show the quality we needed to hurt them. There was nothing in the game and then it was one great ball. There isn't a lot of continuity in that back three so I can't be too critical, but the lad had too much pace. Then it's three or four mistakes for one goal, which is so poor at any level, but in the Premier League, one can't lead to two. It's a brilliant finish for Che [Adams]. I'm delighted for him and I've just spoken to him. He was here as a kid and was a bit of a loose cannon then, but he has got himself forward and he is a proper centre-forward. The decision for him to leave Sheffield has been a good one."
