  1. 'It is a big opportunity missed'published at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT: Everton 1-2 Burnley

    Everton

Everton defender Michael Keane, speaking to Sky Sports: "We know if we are at 100%, no disrespect to Burnley we should be winning these games. It was a big opportunity. It didn't go our way. First half we weren't good enough. We got punished for it.

"Burnley played to their strengths in that period. They won second balls to get up the pitch. They were a yard sharper. I don't have a reason for that. It is disappointing. We were made to pay. We came back into it and could have scored more but so could they.

"It is something [the home form] we know we need to sort. We want to get into Europe and have 10 massive games to achieve that. We have to focus on the next one and have every opportunity."

  2. Can anyone stop Man City?published at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

Fulham v Manchester City (20:00 GMT)

Manchester City are on a club record run of 12 consecutive away victories in all competitions.

They have also won 22 of their past 23 league and cup games.

But they dropped points in only two of their 15 league matches so far this season against teams currently in the bottom half of the table: 1-1 draws with Leeds and West Brom.

  3. 'I couldn't be more proud'published at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT: Everton 1-2 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "They scored a decent goal, maybe we could have handled that better, but we were still creating chances.

"I thought it was a more balanced performance. I thought we attacked well today and made things awkward.

"I think we’ve been performing pretty decently. There have been a lot of challenges this season, but the lads are alive and there have been good signs. Tonight I thought it was a real reward for what I believe is a good outfit.

"We were stretched to the limit at the start of the season. When I look at the amount of work we’ve asked these players to do. When you see the work ethic out there today, I couldn’t be more proud of them.

"I believe the next performance is the most important, we’ll focus on that. We’ll get on with it one game at a time."

  4. 'Fulham have fighting chance'published at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

Fulham v Manchester City (20:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Fulham were fantastic at Anfield last weekend and fully deserved their victory over Liverpool. With three months of the season to go, they have given themselves a fighting chance of staying up, and you just know they will give it a good go in this game too.

This is obviously a much bigger test, though. Manchester City's long winning run was ended by neighbours Manchester United but I think that defeat could end up doing Pep Guardiola's side some good.

A defeat at the right time can concentrate the mind for the tests that are to come - the old 'short, sharp shock' if you like, because there is nothing worse than your players starting to think that you can't be beaten.

    Prediction: 0-2

  5. 'We're looking up, not down'published at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT: Everton 1-2 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley striker Chris Wood: "Every win is good. We’ve got a big chunk of time off now. It’s important we got a good result.

"We know Dwight [McNeil] is special and a great talent. It’s nice for him to pop up with a goal and what a goal it was.

“We just have to do what we do, focus on ourselves and hopefully the performance takes care of itself from there.

“We’ve lost one in seven. That’s not bad in the Premier League. We’re looking up, not looking down.”

  6. What are Fulham's chances?published at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

Fulham v Manchester City (20:00 GMT)

Fulham's form over the past six league games is the fifth best in the division, with three wins and 11 points.

However, their home record is the joint worst in the Premier League. Fulham have only beaten the two sides currently below them: West Brom and Sheffield United.

They are also winless in 24 Premier League home matches against established top-six opposition since beating Arsenal in January 2012 (D2, L22).

(But worth noting they beat defending champions Liverpool at Anfield last weekend)!

This is the first time since February 2020 v West Ham that both Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus have started for Manchester City in a Premier League game.

  9. 'It was a well-earned win'published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT: Everton 1-2 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is the importance of the work we have been doing. We were good against Arsenal and Leicester and have come out of a tough run with points on the board. It was a well-earned win.

"They changed shape a bit in the game. Every time we pressed and nicked it we looked a threat. Could have been more before half-time. They are a really good side but we dealt with the game well.

"The finishes were top drawer. Dwight [McNeil] has a lot of quality. We had some clear cut opportunities. We haven't always maximised our chances.

"I have no clue why it is not a penalty (for handball). Today that is impossible. I don't know where we are at. That is a penalty. If everyone appeals there is a fair chance it is right.

"After seven games we had two points. Now we have a healthy points return. The players' attitude has been magnificent. This break will give us a chance to get some back to full fitness."

I was surprised at Manchester City's team selection against Manchester United, when they went with Gabriel Jesus. They've had a great run without having a forward - not many teams have been able to cope with that. They went back to that against Southampton and scored some goals again.

  13. 'Telling me to shoot more'published at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT: Everton 1-2 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley midfielder Dwight McNeil, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a great win. We haven’t been in bad form. We’ve had a few draws but today we managed to get the three points.

"Our game plan for us was focusing on ourselves. We haven’t had bad performances so we came here today full of confidence. The three points is the main thing, credit to all the lads.

"We always felt comfortable. We knew they’d come out strong in the second half, but we know the resilience we have in our team. We feel a lot closer to safety, but we need to come back after the international break and go again."

On his first-half goal: "I haven't scored a goal like that in the Premier League before but I have in training. I was just lucky enough to get one today. The lads have been telling me to shoot more. Today it paid off.

"It’s just about having that self-confidence and believing you can pull that sort of thing off."

  14. When can City win the title?published at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

Fulham v Manchester City (20:00 GMT)

If Manchester City beat Fulham today, they could win the title at home against Chelsea on 8 May if they win all of their matches between now and then.

They could win it earlier depending on results elsewhere too.

Wow, that City lineup is a world away from what we've become accustomed to. 4 defenders become 5 (or 3) , no striker becomes 2 strikers. Pep always keeps us guessing.
