    FT: Huddersfield 0-0 Cardiff

Look, was that a classic? No.

But was it historic? Yes. For Mick McCarthy, he joined an exclusive club, the 1000 game club.

It's a decent point for Huddersfield and they played really well, but obviously the missed penalty will hurt.

For Cardiff, the only real positive was maintaining their unbeaten record under their manager, now 11 games.

The injury to Joel Bagan, on top of the news that Joe Bennett is out for the season, will be a worry going forward.

Thanks for following along, have a lovely evening and a fabulous weekend.

  2. Cardiff need to rest 'weary legs' - McCarthypublished at 22:14 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2021

    FT: Huddersfield 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy told Sky Sports: "It was a really tough game that we didn't particularly play well in.

"The lads have been different class and they put a real shift in, if you can't win it don't get beat; that's my view.

"Tom Sang came in and made his debut and I thought he was different class.

"We've got two or three days off now and hopefully we can get a win when we come back, we need to rest some weary legs.

"I'm a competitive man... and we'll keep competing until the very end."

  3. Terriers felt they deserved victory - Corberánpublished at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2021

    FT: Huddersfield 0-0 Cardiff

Huddersfield town manager Carlos Corberán told Sky Sports: "The team competed really well, in the first half we could have been better.

"We had more clear chances than them, we defended their set pieces well and we felt we could go for three points.

"It's a pity we didn't get them today.

"We are fighting in the bottom half of the table and our commitment is to fight every game and it will be a challenge."

  4. 'Big result' for Huddersfield - Sarrpublished at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2021

    FT: Huddersfield 0-0 Cardiff

Huddersfield Town defender Naby Sarr told Sky Sports: "It's a big point against a big team, I think today is a big result.

"It was a great battle, they are very good at what they do so we had to be very focused on the first and second ball.

"It's been a while since we had a clean sheet so today is satisfying for the whole team.

"We have to keep working, keep believing, and I believe we are heading the right way."

    That's that.

Cardiff hold on to go 11 unbeaten as Mick McCarthy draws his 1000th game as a manager.

It could have been so different, had Yaya Sanogo not missed the target with a penalty.

Stick with us and we will bring you some reaction.

  13. CLOSE!published at 83 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Cardiff

    Oh my.

Frazier Campbell just missed a golden chance to win it.

Lewis O'Brien's great cross was knocked down by Naby Sarr and Campbell was just eight yards out for his volley, he looked offside, but he blazed over and the flag never came, it would have counted.

    Huge miss.

    Lewis O'Brien wins a corner.

    He's been excellent.

    Cardiff are hanging on here.

    Fantastic save!

Cardiff are split by Lewis O'Brien's pass and Vallejo Mínguez bursts clear, but Dillon Phillips gets a strong hand up to tip the ball wide.

    That's a massive moment.

  16. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff have barely threatened in the second half but Tom Sang just found some space and his effort deflected just wide.

What a debut that would have been and frankly, imagine the word play fun a loser like me would have had with his fun name.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 77 mins

Kieran Phillips on for Yaya Sanogo, so definitely his big chance came and went.
