    Swansea City 0-1 Cardiff City

Swansea have upped the tempo of their passing here as they try to find a route into this game.

Cardiff are holding firm - but this is a little more promising from the home side.

Dillon Phillips now comes for a Jake Bidwell cross and does not get there.

For a moment it seems Swansea might be in for the equaliser, but the referee says Phillips was fouled.

Swansea do now make some progress down the right and work the ball into the area for Morgan Whittaker.

Swansea have it all to do in the second half if they are to close the gap on second-placed Watford to three points.

Steve Cooper's team looked short of attacking threat in the first period, while Cardiff - the Championship's set-piece kings - lead after Swansea failed to clear a long throw.

The Bluebirds have been fairly comfortable so far, and are on course to cut the gap on the top six to just four points.

The second period is coming up soon.

It's only half time but the goal itself typifies the spirit of that team.

It was a good save from Woodman but Flint threw his body at it and it's into the back of the net for the goal.

That's a Cardiff performance for me.

The whistle goes and it is Cardiff who are in charge at the break.

They lead thanks to Aden Flint's early header, and might have doubled the advantage through Kieffer Moore.

  11. What a chance for a secondpublished at 42 mins

    Swansea City 0-1 Cardiff City

Cardiff have a huge chance to double their lead but it goes begging.

Swansea goalkeeper Freddie Woodman makes a terrible hash of clearance as he hits the ball straight to Kieffer Moore.

Moore rounds Woodman - who does well not to foul him - and rolls the ball goalwards only for Ryan Bennett to get back and clear.

Swansea have been imaginative with their corners, they've changed it up, constantly getting the Cardiff City defenders to think about it.

Kieffer Moore is now back on the front foot, flashing an inviting centre across the Swansea box.

Leandro Bacuna cannot quite reach it, though, and the chance is gone.

The Swansea City bench just got sent to the naughty step.

After they all jumped up in reaction to Will Vaulks' foul, referee Paul Tierney quickly read the riot act.

"Just because you all jump up doesn't mean I'll caution him. Pack it in!"

It's been a horrible 30 minutes for Swansea, they haven't laid a glove on Cardiff.

Cardiff are putting their bodies on the line and Swansea have been toothless in this first half an hour.

'Get it down and play' is the instruction from Swansea coach Alan Tate.

Up until now Swansea's possession has usually come when they have been in their own half.

Mick McCarthy will not mind that one bit.
