  2. 'We showed we are competing'published at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2021

    West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes on Sky Sports: "It was a really good game, tough, lots of goals. We played very well especially in the opening 30 minutes and unfortunately we gave them a goal before half time, which gave Arsenal a foot up.

"There was a lot of frustration throughout the game about the decisions, but that's the way football goes sometimes.

"We played very well for long periods, Arsenal played well but are in good form, it wasn't a great result after going 3-0 up but we showed we are up there competing with the best teams.

"It has been a long time since we finished above Arsenal, we have done our best to make sure they can't catch us. Now we want more, I'm greedy and they are devastated in the dressing room at not taking three points."

  3. 'We conceded unacceptable goals'published at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2021

    West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm very disappointed because I cannot accept my team to play the way we did in periods in the first half. I expect we play at the level we did afterwards.

"The first goal, it can happen. It is a really good combination [by West Ham]. That is fine. The way we concede the second and third is unacceptable. Afterwards the attitude and togetherness we showed - it is really difficult to do what we have done. We got really close to winning and I think we deserved to win it but the first part really worried me."

On switching off at a set-piece: "Unacceptable. We talk about that all the time. I don't know if it's a hangover from Europe, tired, focus, it was more than one player that switched off. We have to right that quick."

On Calum Chambers: "He was really good, he has been training really well. He gives us something else, some height in the back line and he was busy in the final third as well. A really good performance."

  4. 'Everyone is disappointed'published at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2021

    West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

    West Ham United

West Ham forward Jesse Lingard to Sky Sports: "Disappointed. Going 3-0 up and then dropping back and not having the confidence to get another goal.

"If we want to fight for top four we have to put our chances away. With a start like that you have to kick on and get more goals. I felt we dropped off, they had more possession - we needed to start the second half quick but it was a lapse in concentration and focus [at the start of the second half].

"I want to help the team any way I can. Everyone is disappointed in the dressing room but we have to pick ourselves up and move on."

  5. 'This game will give me nightmares'published at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2021

    West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaking to Match of the Day: "Hard to explain, we knew the game we would face against West Ham, they can create problems for any team. The first goal is something they do really well - the second and third goal, and the chance at the end, is unacceptable. We didn't look at the races.

"That is the level we can show, the other is top level and probably the best we play all season - we could have scored six or seven goals and won the game, but we cannot have two faces.

"We stuck to the plan we had because we were getting further away from that, we started to play much better and I have faith in the boys they are not going to give the game away. We had the belief we could do something.

"This game is going to give me a few nightmares because it is really difficult to stop some of the things we have been doing to hurt ourselves."

    West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

Jesse Lingard is a man in form and he scored his fifth goal against Arsenal in all competitions, more than he has against any other team.

Lingard scored and assisted in a Premier League game for the first time since December 2018, when he did so for Manchester United in Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s first game in charge of the club (v Cardiff City).

    Indulge in some stats...

West Ham failed to win after being three goals ahead in a Premier League game for the first time since September 1998 (3-4 v Wimbledon). Arsenal, meanwhile, avoided defeat in a Premier League game they trailed by 3+ goals in for only the second time – previously doing so v Bournemouth in January 2017 (3-3).

The Hammers have only won one of their last 11 games against Arsenal in the Premier League (D3 L7), failing to win any of their four meetings in the last two league campaigns (D1 L3).

Today against Arsenal (32 mins) was the earliest from the start of a Premier League match that West Ham have scored three goals since May 2007 against Bolton (29 mins).

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, speaking to Sky Sports: "We had the pressure, we knew it was a big game. We have to work a lot to be ready for the end of the season. It is really complicated, this kind of game, we need to work a lot.

"We knew even after the bad first half we could come back and score more."

Sho: Fair play to Arsenal but West Ham retreated after they went 3-0 up. They should've kept attacking, there was more goals for them. When it went 3-3 they started attacking again and created chances.
