It was really shocking from Arsenal. I was really surprised.

But credit to them, they've got a goal back and they are back in the game now.

Yep, Jesse Lingard has been sensational again for West Ham today, with a goal and an assist - such quick thinking to tee up Jarrod Bowen's goal from the free-kick.

David: Maybe Lingard needs to keep a lower profile. At this rate Man U will want him back

    West Ham 3-1 Arsenal

Why has it taken Arsenal so long to get into the game?

West Ham are struggling to defend the width. West Ham will want to get in, regroup and get some energy back in the legs.

I'm tired from that first 45 minutes. What a game.

Andrew Worby: Arsenal fans need to accept that Arteta will be the manager at the end of this season. Fail to improve next year however and he’ll be gone.

    And that's the break.

What an opening 45 minutes that was.

Bodies on the line from West Ham, as Craig Dawson dives in to deflect a Bukayo Saka effort wide. Good chance for the visitors.

  8. Postpublished at 45+1 mins

    West Ham 3-1 Arsenal

That Arsenal goal has been awarded, if that's the right word, to Tomas Soucek - so the Czech has scored at both ends.

Tomas Soucek snaps away at Martin Odegaard but escapes without a booking.

He's been involved all over the pitch in the first half.

Alistair Wiseman: The thing is, any realistic Arsenal fan knows, this is Arsenal's level now. Any team in the top 6 can simply batter Arsenal. But, give them half a chance and they can and do score goals. And then.. anything can happen.

Arsenal are playing some good stuff now and suddenly it's West Ham who look a bit shaken. Calum Chambers gets down the right and wins a corner.

It's cleared as far as Thomas Partey, but he loops an effort over the bar.

    West Ham 3-1 Arsenal

Huge chance for Bukayo Saka to reduce the deficit even more!

He bursts clear and is one on one with Lukasz Fabianski, but can only fire straight at the West Ham stopper. Much better from the Gunners.

    West Ham 3-1 Arsenal

    Karen Carney

It's a very timely goal for Arsenal. They're back in the game now.

If I was Mikel Arteta going in to half-time 3-0 down, I'd be making three changes.

  16. goal

GOAL - West Ham 3-1 Arsenalpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2021

    Alexandre Lacazette (37 mins)

    Is this the comeback?!

Calum Chambers engineers a cross from the right and it finds Alexandre Lacazette, who swivels superbly and fires towards goal.

It looked to be going wide before taking a deflection off Tomas Soucek and finding the bottom corner, and that might go down as an own goal.

    Arsenal won't care, mind.

Barry: I can't believe that Arteta is still at Arsenal. It is ridiculous that he has spent so much money, sent away 2 great players in Ozil and Saliba when the team are playing badly, and has lost more games in one season than any recent manager hasn't been sacked yet!

  18. 'A nightmare for Arteta'published at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2021

    West Ham 3-0 Arsenal

    Karen Carney
Former England and Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was probably the first time Arsenal had tried to play out from the back.

It's been a nightmare 35 minutes for Mikel Arteta. I feel bad for Arsenal fans. It's really poor.

I think they are mentally shattered. They have traveled a lot and even as a sub you still won't go to bed until late, you're training the next day. That's the only excuse I can come up with if I'm being brutally honest.

  20. goal

GOAL - West Ham 3-0 Arsenalpublished at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2021

    Tomas Soucek (32 mins)

    It's three...

West Ham are absolutely hammering Arsenal, and this time it's Tomas Soucek who gets his name on the scoresheet.

It looked like Michail Antonio's goal, it was the forward's powerful header from Vladimir Coufal's inviting cross that was heading towards goal, but Soucek just got a toe on the ball to help it in.

Wonderful from the Hammers, but awful defending once more from Arsenal.
