Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, speaking to Sky Sports:

[On Manchester United's disallowed goal] "The game has gone. Game has absolutely gone.

"If that’s a clear and obvious error, it’s an obvious error he had to look at it. It was a perfectly good goal.

"We shouldn’t be conned. I have to say, if my son stays down for three minutes and he needs his 10 mates to help him up, he won’t get any food.

"We weren’t conned, the referee was.

"That kick-started us. [Before the goal] we had played like a team who had played in Europe on a Thursday night [last time out].

"Top reaction, we played some great stuff second half. We felt the injustice and we showed good character to come back. We can’t let those decisions ruin this good season for us.

"The goals we scored, were excellent. Edinson [Cavani] shows why he’s a number nine. Fred even scores, that just shows us how good we were."

[On Cavani not signing a new deal] "For a new lad who doesn’t speak English and not having his family over here, of course it’s in the back of his head. Fingers crossed. If he decides it’s just the season then we’d be very happy to have had him here."

You just don't know what you are going to get with Arsenal from one game to the next. The performance against Liverpool was awful. There was no passion, they didn't have much organisation.

I think Mikel Arteta is suffering because the recruitment at this football club has been ordinary. And they have spent an awful lot of money - and they haven't improved whatsoever.

Good start from the Arsenal - Bukayo Saka runs in behind and lashes in a shot over the top. Not very far over the top either.

Tottenham Hotspur

Interesting response from Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho when asked on BBC Radio 5 Live if his side has difficulty keeping hold of a lead in games:

"We have a problem with holding onto leads, yes," he said. "I'm not ready to go deeper into it with you because every time I try to go a little bit deeper, there is always a reaction, so sometimes, I feel a little bit in a grey area.

"I don't know if I should comment or share my views with you, or share my feelings and my ideas with you - or if I don't.

"So, it's better I stay in this position and I don't give anything more than this."

The players converge around the centre spot for a two minutes' silence to mark the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham's Son Heung-Min, speaking to Sky Sports: "If you don't win it's always a blow. What can I say? It's a really sad result especially as we were leading at half-time.

"It's very frustrating. This result is not the first time and I think we tried but made the same mistakes.

"We are on the pitch to win. I've been in the Premier League for six years now and I try and be positive. We will try our best. We want to do our best to be in the Champions League."

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to BBC Sport:

"Credit to the opponent. They have good players and lots of quality. They have incredible physicality in midfield.

"In the second half the things went against us too. They score but our reaction deserves a second goal. Then they score a second but our reaction deserves a second goal too.

"We lost but I praise my players. We have no complaints. For me it’s very difficult for me to analyse games with the media. I am always criticized when I try to analyse so I prefer to be general.

"To be general, I think we lost against a very good team. I praise my players and my compliments to United."

[On VAR] "It’s difficult for everybody. For us, for the players, for the referees. Lots of contradictions and decisions you don’t understand very well. That’s not my problem, I cannot fix this.

"It’s a compliment to me in the way we start matches, the way we are organised. Then what happens during matches to lose points from winning positions is one of the situations I am not comfortable with talking to the media anymore.

"You look to the table and you see the distance to the top four. You know it’s difficult but it’s mathematically possible."

Terry Urbanczyk: Tottenham may have to sell Kane to fund Jose's payoff.

Lee: Mourinho's stock has fallen so far he can't be considered a big manager anymore. In fact the only impressive thing about him is how on earth he keeps getting these big jobs when he's clearly out of his depth.

Arsenal

Arsenal have played more Premier League matches at Bramall Lane without winning than at any other ground (4). Their last away top-flight win at Sheffield United was in April 1991, winning 2-0 with goals from Kevin Campbell and Alan Smith. Paul Merson (above) also played.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to Sky Sports: "We played against a good team, lots of strong players in midfield. We had great occasions to score a second goal. We hit the woodwork and were dominant in that period.

"My opinion was a good game. My opinion was we didn't deserve this result at all. We were unlucky because maybe [Paul] Pogba should get a red card for an elbow on Serge Aurier.

"I don't know anything anymore [abput VAR]. I watched Fulham versus Wolves. I don't understand anything anymore. Sometimes you get, sometimes you don't get. I don't know how to comment. You don't celebrate a goal because you are afraid."

The return to the Championship is not far away now for the Blades.

Lose today and they will be 18 points behind Newcastle in 17th place, with a maximum of 21 points available to play for.

Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, speaking to Sky Sports: "At half-time the message was clear: just keep calm, no need to panic. We know that we have good character in the team and against a really difficult team, so we're happy.

"Sometimes that's the way football goes. For the first 30 minutes by our standards, we were not good enough but we dominated the whole second half to be fair.

"Personally I'm not a fan of VAR but the referees have to make decisions. It was a case of keeping calm. Everybody makes mistakes and that's part and parcel of it.

"[The disallowed goal] was a total injustice but you just have to get on with the game. Getting three points in a really difficult game was pleasing.

"Fred was terrific today, along with Paul [Poga] and Mason [Greenwood]. They had real energy and the manager will be pleased with a lot of players today.

"We owed Tottenham a proper game - we had that in our minds - and today was much better than last time."

Sheffield United

Sheffield United are unbeaten in all four home Premier League matches against Arsenal (W2 D2), winning their last two 1-0 in 2006-07 and 2019-20.
