After a performance as memorable as that it's only right that we take a few days before the EFL returns.

Norwich have probably threatened a scoreline like this for their past couple Championship seasons, and tonight everything clicked.

Thank you for following our coverage, it's been an absolute privilege to describe.

That was Huddersfield's first defeat in six but boss Carlos Corberan has been under pressure several times this season, and the Terriers are not yet safe from relegation.

  3. 'I would've taken a dirty 1-0'published at 22:07 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

    FT: Norwich 7-0 Huddersfield

And here's some more from Daniel Farke...

"I would've taken a dirty 1-0 in the last minute. Sometimes when you score a late winner it feels even sweeter!

"But, of course, for my nerves it was alright to have such a comfortable win. And we don't just play football for numbers - we want to entertain our fans and, for that, it was a pretty enjoyable game tonight.

"I'm not over-excited [about the possibility of getting promoted on Saturday]."

Norwich head coach Daniel Farke told Sky Sports:

"Each and every game is difficult and we always try to be at our best. It's difficult to compare games, but today was alright and I can't complain too much.

"First of all, they're not in the best position in the league so nobody wants to see me dancing around the sidelines. But I could've been dancing on the table.

"We did the basics today. It was great teamwork."

Before we go let's bring you some reaction from the two managers.

Daniel Farke hadn't seen his Norwich side score more than four in a game before tonight, so I'm guessing he'll be pretty chuffed.

  6. 'It's a wonderful place'published at 21:56 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

    FT: Norwich 7-0 Huddersfield

And some more from Teemu Pukki...

"The target is to reach the Premier League. If I can score goals to help us there that makes me happy.

"All we can do is enjoy it. It's a wonderful place where we are. We need to keep doing what we've been doing all season."

  7. 'These guys make it easy'published at 21:52 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

Hat-trick hero Teemu Pukki has been speaking to Sky Sports after, unsurprisingly, being named as man of the match...

"It was a pretty fun game. We created a lot and scored a lot. I needed to score a couple today after the last game. It meant a lot to get the goals today.

"These guys are making it easy for me. I enjoy playing with them. The other goals were great goals too, it's been a wonderful performance."

After the final whistle, with most of the players off the pitch, Norwich boss Daniel Farke spent a couple minutes talking 18-year-old centre-back Andrew Omobamidele through his positioning.

    After a 7-0 win.

That shows the standards at the club.

If Norwich beat Derby on Saturday and Brentford and Swansea fail to win, the Canaries will officially be promoted back to the Premier League.

  13. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

    Norwich 7-0 Huddersfield

    Norwich celebrateImage source, Getty Images

I've run out of superlatives for this Norwich side.

What a fine, fine performance to completely dismantle Huddersfield.

The first half was nothing short of sensational and they still managed to add to the score despite a scrappier second 45 minutes.

The Canaries are now eight points clear and very nearly promoted.

  14. INJURY TIMEpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

The officials take pity on Huddersfield and only add two minutes of stoppage time.

  15. Postpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

    Norwich 7-0 Huddersfield

If you weren't with us earlier... Huddersfield keeper Joel Pereira was only called into the side at the last minute as first-choice Ryan Schofield fell ill.

You have to feel for the on-loan Manchester United man, there's not a whole lot more he could've done to keep the score down.

  16. Postpublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

Przemyslaw Placheta forces a decent save from Huddersfield keeper Joel Pereira and then Onel Hernandez scissor kicks a shot over the bar.

Norwich are still hunting for goals here.

  18. Postpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

Norwich are starting to really enjoy this now.

If fans were inside Carrow Road they'd be shouting 'ole' with every simple pass as they retain possession for minutes on end.

It really is just like watching Brazil...

  19. Postpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 6 April 2021

    Norwich 7-0 Huddersfield

For all my talk of Teemu Pukki and Emi Buendia, Norwich are not a side of individuals.

So many of their goals tonight have been wonderfully worked team goals, with the likes of Kieran Dowell, Todd Cantwell and Max Aarons also heavily involved.

And defensively they're so much stronger than they were when they got promoted two seasons ago.
