  1. 'Chelsea need to be bolder'published at 18:16 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It’s a poor spell in the game. It’s actually gone really flat.

City can’t be this bad in the next part of the game. I really feel Chelsea need to be bolder because they were having some joy.

Thiago Silva is again alert to danger as he cuts out a low Joao Cancelo cross.

City are finishing the half strongly.

Chelsea have impressed me, Ziyech particularly. They're so strong in their midfield, Kante is like having one and a half players.

So, just so that I'm sure...Fernandinho can stamp on a face and carry out a couple of fouls and that's fine. James takes the ball from him and gets a card?

Seems like Mike Dean is so mad at Fernandinho he's booked James for it.

Kevin de Bruyne lifts the ball into the box as Raheem Sterling makes a run. Thiago Silva reads the situation well and heads away the danger.

  6. Chelsea still on toppublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Chelsea still looking the more dangerous side. We are still waiting for Manchester City to really threaten.

It looked like some Chelsea players did not appreciate Reece James getting a yellow card for a foul on Fernandinho - who has been incredibly fortunate to escape similar punishment so far. Irony.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

We've seen very little of Manchester City's attacking threat so far. Pep Guardiola made eight changes to his team and they still look like a side yet to click properly.

  8. Sterling 'really struggling'published at 18:10 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

I don’t enjoy watching Raheem Sterling play too centrally. I think he’s played some of his best football on the wing.

He seems a little bit lost at the moment in this team. He's really struggling.

Fernandinho has been very lucky not to have been booked so far but it is a Chelsea player who is the first to go into the book - Reece James is flashed a yellow card by Mike Dean for a late lunge on Fernandinho.

Fernandinho should have had a least two yellow cards so far. I've never known a player to get away with so many blatant fouls.

Ziyech and Mount have started so well. Perhaps playing a Premier League-standard forward up there with them would help them score.

It’s pretty even. Chelsea probably have had the better of the ball and the more satisfied manager.

There’s been no way through the Chelsea back-line. They’re well protected with Kante and Jorginho. They’ve got it just about right until now.

Reece James has a pop from distance following a Chelsea corner. He drives it through the crowded box but wide of goal.

Just over half an hour gone and despite Chelsea's promising play they are yet to register a shot on target.

The Blues embark on another promising attack as Timo Werner gets away down the right but his square pass for Ben Chilwell is expertly cut out by Aymeric Laporte.

Should Ben Chilwell have done better? Arguably the best chance of the game so far.

  15. 'Tuchel will be delighted'published at 18:03 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

We haven’t really seen much of City in an attacking sense. Their front four players have been non-existent.

I think Thomas Tuchel will be delighted. Pep Guardiola looks a little bit more frustrated - he needs to get his thinking cap on to get more out of his team.

Mason Mount bursts through the middle again, staying on his feet after being caught by a wild swing of the boot from Fernandinho. Mount passes to Hakim Ziyech, who puts the ball into the box looking for Timo Werner but Aymeric Laporte heads away.

Typical Premier League-style game, lots of passing backwards and sideways and no excitement. Maybe it's the lack of fans that has caused this.

    Rob, Finchley

It's like watching a pre-season friendly! FA Cup semi-final, where's the passion? This new brand of football is a bore. Yawn!

Chelsea come forward again through Mason Mount, who feeds Ben Chilwell on his left but the full-back's cross takes a deflection on its way across the face of goal.

Pep Guardiola looks a little concerned as he watches on. Chelsea have certainly had the better of this game so far.
