That’s Reece James at his best. He never really whips one in, he always gets his head up and picks someone out.

You have to say that’s a tap-in for Chilwell. He has to at least be hitting the target there and working Zack Steffen.

Ben: Chelsea look very strong so far today. Confident and controlled.

Certunicorns: While City have been so dominant all season, I could definitely see a Chelsea win here. League season all over for Chelsea, it's got to be about the FA Cup and Champions League.

Ben Chilwell had so much time. I wondered if he would bring it down. Wonderful move. Ziyech came off into space, then played it wide. City can't deal with it at the moment. Chilwell doesn't quite get the control he wants.

  4. CLOSE!published at 19 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    Big chance for Ben Chilwell!

It is a great move from Chelsea as Hakim Ziyech sprays the ball out wide for Reece James, who floats a cross tot the far post but Chilwell scuffs his first-time volley wide. He probably had time to take a touch there. A let off for Manchester City.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Things have settled down again with most of the play in midfield. It was this offside goal that sparked a good spell for Chelsea earlier.

  6. 'Chelsea should get on the front foot more'published at 17:49 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

This game’s only going to get harder for Chelsea. Anybody City bring on makes them better.

They should be thinking about getting on the front foot a little bit more.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Lovely run by Mason Mount as he drives forward before a last-ditch tackle on the edge of the box ends a promising moment for Chelsea.

  8. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Chelsea have enjoyed 65% possession in the opening quarter-of-an-hour but Manchester City are getting into their groove now as they work the ball forward.

  9. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

There's a bit of concern for Chelsea that threatens to temper the bright start they have had. Thiago Silva is holding his back and looks in discomfort but he is able to continue. One to keep an eye on.

  10. 'Azpilicueta thankful to his goalkeeper'published at 17:44 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    Lee Dixon
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Cesar Azpilicueta was quite thankful to his goalkeeper there after giving the ball away in midfield.

He knows he’s going to be outpaced down that right-hand side. What a defender he is, but his legs are just starting to go a bit. City will be looking to exploit that.

Now Manchester City have their first chance as Gabriel Jesus leads a quick counter. He exchanges passes with Kevin de Bruyne on the left before having a go from distance. Well hit but straight at Kepa Arrizabalaga in the Chelsea goal.

  12. Chelsea quick off the markpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Chelsea really sharp from the start, plenty of crisp passing and positive intent.

Fans are missed at every game but there is a genuinely surreal feeling to an FA Cup semi-final between two of the Premier League's superpowers being played in a virtually deserted Wembley.

  13. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Chelsea continue their bright start as Aymeric Laporte is forced into giving away a corner - it comes to nothing but the Blues keep up the pressure as Zack Steffen punches away a Reece James cross at his near post.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC One

Hakim Ziyech knew [it would be disallowed]. He had a really good view of that. It looked offside by the naked eye.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 6 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

Timo Werner is away down the left, he looks offside but the flag stays down. He gets to the edge of the box and squares for Hakim Ziyech, who puts the ball into the net but then the flag goes up and VAR confirms Werner was offside.

  16. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

A couple of moments of loose passing in these early stages as N'Golo Kante hits a fairly routine pass out for a throw.

Caution is the key in these early stages rather than a high tempo start from either side.

  17. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

An early touch for Zack Steffen in what is a massive game for the Manchester City goalkeeper. It's a routine pass back from his defence before he plays it out to a team-mate. City with the early possession.

Mouthwatering. Let's hope we're in for a classic. This could be the Champions League final. Both sides are in really good form.

  19. 'Guardiola a bit wary of Chelsea'published at 17:32 British Summer Time 17 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Man City

    Lee Dixon
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The fact that Rodri and Fernandinho are playing just in front of the back for is a big one for me.

I think Pep Guardiola is perhaps a little bit wary of Chelsea on the break.
