That was all about Jamie Vardy, passion and desire to think 'I'm going to pick the ball up and travel with pace and make something happen' and that's exactly what he did. Picked it up on the left hand side, went past the defenders, no one can catch him and then he picks his moment, he holds onto it and waits, allows Kelechi Iheanacho to get into the right position and the cross comes in and that's 1-0 to Leicester.

GOAL - Leicester 1-0 Southamptonpublished at 54 mins

    Kelechi Iheanacho

    Right place, right time!

Kelechi Iheanacho has been pretty quiet all game but is alert when it matters as he fires the Foxes ahead.

It is brilliant work from Jamie Vardy as he powers away down the left and gets into the box before finding Iheanacho, whose first shot is blocked but he puts away the rebound.

Two goals in the quarters and a huge goal in the semi-final. Iheanacho is in some form.

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

A decent start to this half by Southampton. Kasper Schmeichel could probably still pop out for a wander around London safe in the knowledge his goal is not in much danger but the Saints are seeing more of the ball in the Leicester half compared to the start of the first half.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 48 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

Caglar Soyuncu wipes out Kyle Walker-Peters and I'm surprised that he's surprised that it is given as a foul and a yellow card for the Leicester man.

Good position for a free-kick, James Ward-Prowse sends a good ball in but it bounces off the top of Jannik Vestergaard's head and well over.

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

This was as close as we came to a goal.

Southampton failed to register a single shot. The last time they failed to do that in the first half of a match was against Everton in the Premier League in November 2019

Jord Gurr: What an awful half of football, snooze fest!

  9. 'A chess match'published at 19:23 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

Neither team have had a shot on target, Southampton haven't had any shot. It's been played between both boxes. It's been a bit of a chess match. Things will start to open up around 60 minutes when subs will be made and we'll see more expressive play.

It's a really good weird [to see fans].

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:19 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

A Southampton free kick is cleared before the whistle goes for half time.

A tense affair. Hope you've not got plans to watch Line of Duty as live. This one could go the distance.

Another corner for Leicester as they finish the half strongly. Wilfred Ndidi flicks it on and Jamie Vardy tries to nod in but two Southampton players defend well to get the ball over their own bar.

Great ball in by Youri Tielemans, whip and pace. Wilfried Ndidi is unmarked - he can't get it down enough. Southampton need to switch on on those set-plays.

Leicester win a corner as Timothy Castagne's ball for Jamie Vardy is stabbed behind. Wilfred Ndidi rises to meet the delivery from the set piece but loops his header onto the roof of the net.

Southampton building nicely now - their passing now much more measured and crisp. They've not managed a shot on or off target yet but are looking more of a threat going forward.

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

So far so good for Southampton at the back.

The Saints are yet to concede a goal in this season’s FA Cup and are still on course to become the first team to reach the final of the competition without conceding since Everton did so in 1965-66.

Great to have supporters back in attendance and one Southampton fan is making the most of it. He is delivering loud solo renditions of "When The Saints Go Marching In" at regular intervals. And the man can sing.

It was a brilliant pass from Youri Tielemans. He put it on the money for Jamie Vardy. Jan Bednarek is trying to get back but the pass is so good he can't get near it. It cut through the heart of Southampton. Vardy should have taken it first time. His first touch took him away.

What a ball by Youri Tielemans! He slices through the Southampton midfield and defence to pick out the run of Jamie Vardy, who looks certain to tuck in at the near post but Fraser Foster does well.

Southampton respond by going up the other end and winning a corner, which is played low into the area and causes a bit of drama before Leicester can scramble away for a throw.

It has taken a while, but we have a good game on now.

James Ward-Prowse whips a dangerous free kick into the box. It could be anyone's but fortunately for Leicester Wilfred Ndidi is able to make a clearing header.
