    Rangers 1-0 Hibernian

Hibs winger Martin Boyle is booked for simulation as he runs into the back of Connor Goldson and topples over. A bit harsh maybe since he didn't appear to be claiming anything.

It's a great finish from Joe Aribo, but Marciano parries the initial header back in to a dangerous area and Rangers can recycle possession. I think he's got to do better.

    Joe Aribo

Ofir Marciano pushes out a Kemar Roofe header but Rangers quickly regain possession and keep up the pressure. The ball drops to Joe Aribo on the angle of the six yard box and the midfielder swivels nicely to slam a shot home.

There's been a couple of moments Hibs have been able to break quickly. It's going to be an entertaining game. Two teams that want to play football and attack. I'll be very surprised if this ends up a goalless draw.

  9. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

The patient probing continues but both teams are holding their shape well, so there aren't many gaps to exploit.

A slack pass out of defence from Connor Goldson is intercepted by Alex Gogic, but the Hibs man takes a heavy touch, immediately surrendering possession - and Goldson can breathe a sigh of relief.

A perfect day for football, cold and crisp, with barely a breath of wind.

  14. Morelos hitting his stridepublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

Alfredo Morelos has two goals against Hibs this season.

The Colombian finally broke his Old Firm duck with the equaliser against Celtic, taking his tally for the season to 16.

He's going to have to do something remarkable to get close to his previous campaign totals of 31 and 29 but he's definitely become more of a team player this term, chipping in with eight assists in all competitions.

Nine goals in his last 14 games shows he has certainly not lost his knack of being in the right place at the right time.

  15. Doidge back among the goalspublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

It's going to take something special to stop Rangers' perfect record at home but Hibs have some very useful firepower in Kevin Nisbet, Christian Doidge and Martin Boyle - all in double figures for the season.

Doidge is an awkward customer who never gives defenders a moment's peace and he is something of a 'streaky' striker with three goals in two games after a 15-match drought.

  16. Can Hibs hold on to third?published at 14:46 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

Following Aberdeen's win at St Johnstone yesterday, Hibs' lead in the battle to finish third stands at four points.

The Easter Road men have a visit to Pittodrie to come and their record in the north east is not great, without a win since May 2012.

However, they have home games against Livingston and St Johnstone to come before that trip. Picking up anything today would be a surprise bonus.

  17. Should Patterson go on loan next season?published at 14:42 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

If you sell Tavernier, you are making a lot of money and you're getting a youth player through the system you could sell for a lot of money in years to come as well. What's more profitable for Rangers? If Patterson only plays five or six games next season, his career has stunted. If Tavernier is starting next season, Rangers have to send Patterson out on loan for a full season.

In a couple of weeks time Nathan Patterson is going to be missing games and the captain (James Tavernier) will come back in. But he's got to take it as a learning experience. I remember Barry Ferguson coming through, he had that hunger and desire to be in that side. I'm sure Patterson will be like that as well.

  19. Ross takes encouragement from last Ibrox visitpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

Hibernian manager Jack Ross is taking heart from running Rangers close this season but knows his side face an almighty challenge.

At his pre-match press conference, he said: "That record is not easy to put together and is testament to Rangers' level of consistency this season and beyond

"For us, we gauge it on the time we were there this season, on Boxing Day, and we performed really well and pushed Rangers really hard.

"We feel all the games against them this season have been hugely competitive and that game at Ibrox we felt we performed well. If we perform to the same level then I think we have a chance of winning the game.

"On that day we lost it and that is why they have that terrific home record, because they have found ways to win games at times. But for us, while acknowledging the size of the task, we take a lot of encouragement from the last time we were there."

  20. Three kinds of close encounterspublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

Hibs have caused the champions a few problems this season.

A 2-2 draw at Easter Road in September remains the front-runner for match of the season, while Rangers prevailed 1-0 in the following two fixtures.

Rangers had the bulk of play in those games but Hibs had legitimate grievances, having had a strong claim for a penalty ignored at Ibrox, while Alfredo Morelos scored the winner in the Edinburgh return long after a stamp that earned him a retrospective red card.
