FA Cup

Meanwhile, Wembley hosts the two all-Premier League FA Cup semi-finals.

Saturday's tie between Chelsea and Manchester City, which kicks-off at 17:30 BST without fans, will be shown live on BBC One from 17:00.

Leicester City then take on Southampton on Sunday at 18:30 in front of 4,000 spectators, which you can follow on BBC Radio 5 Live and the BBC Sport website.

Premier League

Tonight's match at Goodison begins a run of 11 consecutive days featuring Premier League action. Lovely stuff.

As for what you can look forward to this weekend, we'll be back tomorrow with live text coverage of Newcastle v West Ham (12:30 BST) and Wolves v Sheffield United (20:15).

Then, on Sunday, it's Arsenal v Fulham (13:30) and Manchester United v Burnley (16:00).

It's a hectic weekend of football with Premier League and FA Cup semi-final action to come.

Harry Kane has been directly involved in 62 goals in 62 appearances in all competitions for Spurs under Jose Mourinho.

That's 45 goals and 17 assists. Unsurprisingly, no Premier League player has more goal involvements during that period (since 23 November 2019).

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "If we made less mistakes in the box we can win the game. Both Michael [Keane] and Mason [Holgate] are used to being comfortable with this kind of ball. We were unlucky with both.

"It was one of the best performances we have played here at home. We created the opportunities to win the game. The opponent was really strong and needs points like us. We were active, we pressed forward with intensity and had a good spirit. We have lost points but we are still there and we keep fighting for sure. With this kind of perfromance we would lose less points."

On the race for European qualification: "I am sure the race will decided in the last game. We have seven games and we have to keep fighting every game. We need to win, we are still fighting."

MuteVicars: I find it genuinely baffling that Everton have a striker good enough to score in the Champion's League in Kean, and have let him go out on loan, and have replaced him with a striker not good enough to start when DCL is injured.

Everton have failed to win any of their last five Premier League matches, which is their longest winless run since December 2018 under Marco Silva.

That will be a huge blow. They have the cup final next week and we all want to see Harry Kane on the pitch. Hopefully he will be okay but you know as a player. We have to hope it's not a bad one but it doesn't look good at this moment in time.

More from Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho: "Probably [a fair result]. I think we started dominating and pressing them high. We scored the goal, then their equaliser - I prefer not to comment.

"In the second half the game was tight and they scored with the first chance they had. It was a great reaction from us and the game was open. Until the end anything could happen. It was a good game, especially for the people at home."

On whether he was surprised by Everton's penalty: "No. Because when the referee goes with such a firm decison I knew it. Normally VAR referees don't like to go against the referee decision. They are friends, they don't like to expose the mistakes. There is no point in complaining because the decision was made. We can complain but complain for what? In this country we are always told to leave the referees in peace."

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC Match of the Day, on the extent of Harry Kane's injury: "I dont know. That's also a question I want an answer to as soon as possible but it's too early. For him to come out it is not because it's nothing, it's something.

"The next match is Wednesday [against Southampton], the other is Sunday [in the Carabao Cup final v Manchester City], let's see and let's be positive. We all felt the same fears of something that stops him playing Wednesday and especially Sunday but we will see.

"You know how good he is, how important he is for us. The last two matches at home we drew 2-2 and he scored all four goals. If we don't have Harry we will fight the same."

More from Carlo Ancelotti to Sky on James Rodriguez: "When he is fit he is always influential. He is a player of another level because with the ball he is fantastic. He always has a good pass and he is important for us."

On the mistakes which led to Harry Kane's goals: "It is really difficult to say. Unfortunately in football it can happen. Michael [Keane] and Mason [Holgate] were involved and they are usually doing well.

"We have to accept it tonight but tomorrow it will be another day and we have to keep fighting because I am convinced we still have possibility [of qualifying for Europe]."

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti speaking to Sky Sports: "We played a good game. It was probably the best we played at home this season. We were unlucky. We did easy mistakes and when you do mistakes against Harry Kane you are condemned.

"It is a disappointing result but not performance. We have more difficulties to reach Europe but we have to keep fighting. We still have possibility playing like tonight.

"We pressed well forward and were aggressive. In the first 10-15 minutes we didn't do well with the ball but after that we had a lot of opportunity and chances. We have to keep the performance and repeat it."

More from Jose Mourinho to Sky Sports: "I think it was a game between two teams that have lots of similarities. We are very similar in many aspects. It's teams who are capable of scoring goals and can concede too. It was a good game where both teams tried to win it and probably a fair result.

"It was not an easy game to have the ball due to pressing. Richarlison presses a lot the first line. They had Alex Iwobi and Gylfi Sigurdsson. I don't think it was easy from behind."

More from Jose Mourinho to Sky Sports on the penalty: "I am not going to comment. In so many experiences and years in this moment I just laugh. That's the way my team normally is, we don't have many complaints. I'm OK [that the Spurs players] didn't complain. The job is done and the referee made the decision.

"It's very difficult for VAR to make a decision to go against the referee's decision. Against the same referee against Arsenal we complain about the penalty and it is still there. The players probably felt the same as I felt."

On Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba's comments on his man-management this week: "I would like to say that I couldn't care less with what he says. I am not interested at all."

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho speaking to Sky Sports on Harry Kane: "It is too early to say something. For him to leave the pitch with a few minutes to go is obviously because he felt something. Let me be optimistic and believe that he has time to recover. Let's see.

"Let me be optimistic and believe it's nothing serious. It's obvious he's a very important player for us. I cannot say much or speculate.

"Both [Kane's goals] were from crosses but it was great finishing. It's the kind of player that when you see the first touch and the control, we are used to seeing it in training and we know it is fantastic finishing. Two beautiful goals but not a surprise for the ones who see him do it every day in training."

The last five meetings between Everton and Tottenham at Goodison Park in all competitions have produced 26 goals (10 for Everton, 16 for Spurs).

That's an average of 5.2 per game.

Everton midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson speaking to Sky Sports: "It feels like we dropped two points from the chances we had and the goals we conceded. We are satisfied with the performance but disappointed not to take the three points."

On why they managed a good perfromance: "The chance of playing European football. We haven't had a lot of time since the Brighton game but the way we set up worked fantastically. We had a lot of chances but we were just missing that little bit of quailty to see the game off."

On his goal: "The ball was obviously perfect. I could see the defender in front of me so I tried to get a good contact - luckily I got a good contact and the ball ended up in the back of the net."

On defensive errors: "When you concede goals it is most of the time down to mistakes, that is the way football is. We had enough chances to win the games so we have to look at the chances we didn't take."

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho says it is too early to say how serious Harry Kane's injury is - but added he is "optimistic".

Tottenham's Eric Dier speaking to Sky Sports: "I think in the first half we started well and got our goal then conceded a poor goal. I think both goals were disappointing to concede. We need to be doing better in those areas. I can do better with myself on the second. 2-2 was fair. They had a few good chances at the end. We did well on some of them. They squandered a few.

"We gave possession away too much in our half. We need to keep the ball better. I think when we did get out, we got out quite easily through their press. We were at times just a bit too hesitant in possession."

On playing a back three: "We played it well. We have played it before. Defensively we were aggressive and on the front foot. In general we did quite well in that formation."

On Harry Kane: "Obviously it's always worrying when you see him limping because he doesn't fall over easily. He takes a lot of knocks. It's early days to say how bad it is but I'm sure he's a tough boy so will do what he can to be ready.

"We have to prepare for the cup final as best we can and try to pick up as good results we can to finish strongly. We owe it to ourselves and the fans. It's about pride."
