    Bournemouth 0-1 Brentford

Utterly blanket defence from Brentford, who have packed the box and its perimeter with their nine outfield players.

Bournemouth can retain possession on the edge of the box but once the ball goes in, the towering Bees centre-halves keep nodding it clear.

    Really cool and composed defence.

However, Mads Roerslev has just chopped down Junior Stanislas in a dangerous spot.

Darren: Bournemouth have been poor today, have completely lost the impetus gained in the last seven days and have not taken advantage of being a man up. Woodgate was clearly happy to settle for a point only and now they've paid the price.

  3. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Brentford

Charlie Goode gets up brilliantly to deny Bournemouth a heading opportunity just yards out from goal.

The cross was stood up superbly to the back post but there was Goode, lurking to nip away the chance.

  4. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Brentford

If it stays like this, Brentford will leapfrog the Cherries into third.

Mads Bech Sorensen does a good job of halting David Brooks, and then when Jack Stacey plays in Dominic Solanke and he helps it on, Brentford again get a foot in to clear.

    Pressure being applied.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 80 mins

    Bournemouth 0-1 Brentford

Ivan Toney lies on the ball in front of the dug outs and the Bournemouth players are incensed.

It ends with a scuffle and booking for Toney and I think Diego Rico.

    Super sub!

Brentford have been growing steadily in belief since the dismissal of Pontus Jansson and the substitution made by Thomas Frank pays off.

Slide rule pass from Christian Norgaard got Ivan Toney striding into the box and forced a save from Asmir Begovic.

However, there was Bryan Mbeumo to tuck in the rebound.

    Big goal.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 77 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Sam Surridge is on.

  8. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

No tablet-based chatter for Sam Surridge as he is prepared on the bench to enter the fray.

More analog paper booklet stuff for him.

Brentford meanwhile give plenty of work for Asmir Begovic to do.

Emiliano Marcondes slips into a gap between defence and midfield before snapping a fierce shot which forces Begovic to parry away.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Positive changes for Brentford.

Emiliano Marcondes and Bryan Mbeumo coming on, Marcus Forss and Mathias Jensen making way.

Not a bad set of swaps.

  10. Postpublished at 73 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Marcus Forss gets in behind the Bournemouth defence as he chases down an Ivan Toney clip over the top and muscles off the defence.

However, with Asmir Begovic looming, he whacks it over the bar from a tight angle. Disappointing outcome.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Wasn't that useful.

Bryan Mbeumo is being prepared to come on, mainly by being shown something on an iPad.

    How hi-tech.

  12. Postpublished at 71 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Having been so dominant and free-scoring of late, Bournemouth have been a bit muted this afternoon.

Credit for some of that must go to Brentford for their work in midfield.

Now they've got a free-kick outside the box which could be useful...

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 68 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Marcus Forss lunges at Diego Rico after a heavy touch and is booked for Brentford.

Plenty of intent and effort but maybe a time for cool heads.

Jefferson Lerma gets booked for Bournemouth too, for a sneaky shove off the ball.

  14. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 66 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Ivan Toney is picked out in the box and then gets into a tangle of legs with Jack Wilshere and goes down.

The Brentford striker appeals loudly for a spot kick but nothing doing.

It's not been the backs-to-the-wall defensive grind-out the Bees might have feared since Pontus Jansson's dismissal.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 61 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Bournemouth make a change.

Adam Smith is replaced by Jack Stacey.

Philip Billing is off for David Brooks.

Brooks is a real livewire and creative outlet. Bodes well for the Cherries.

    HT: Portsmouth 1-0 Bristol Rovers

    Portsmouth celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Half-time at Fratton Park, with Danny Cowley's Portsmouth a goal to the good against Bristol Rovers thanks to Ronan Curtis.

Pompey are heading back into League One's top six as it stands before the 15:00 BST games.

Remember, only a win for Bristol Rovers keeps their slim hopes of avoiding relegation alive.

  17. Postpublished at 65 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

First glimpse of David Brooks as he picks up on the right and cuts in, but his attempts to bring teammates into play was snubbed by the covering Mads Roerslev for Brentford.

Bournemouth not making the ball stick though, and Brentford set their defensive lines doggedly to limit the space.

  18. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Tidy work from Brentford around the Bournemouth box.

First from Christian Norgaard who angled his run out to the right and then squared in field to Marcus Forss.

He touched on to Mathias Jensen but instead of shooting he passed wide to Mads Roerslev and his cross was cleared.

Really want to see Jensen take a few digs from distance.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 55 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Changes made by Brentford.

Charlie Goode and Mads Bech Sorensen replace Sergi Canos and Tariqe Fosu.

    More defensive-minded from Thomas Frank.

  20. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Bournemouth have looked a bit more direct in this second half, getting the ball forward from the back, bypassing the midfield and getting the forwards into play.

Philip Billing gives away a foul in midfield, sliding in on Vitaly Janelt.
