    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

The free-kick whips through to David Raya who makes the save from Junior Stanislas.

Pontus Jansson's first booking was a clumsy, silly tackle well outside the box. How rueful will he be now?

Bees down to 10 for the next 40 minutes or so.

  2. RED CARD (Jansson, Brentford)published at 50 mins

    Oh no.

Pontus Jansson is off for Brentford. Second yellow.

Arnaut Danjuma was playing on the shoulder and chasing a looped ball over the top before Jansson dragged him down.

John Brooks got the card out. He's off.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Brentford struggling to clear their lines in the breeze, eventually do so but Bournemouth pump it straight back at them.

The Bees break, and Sergi Canos snaps a fizzer low which just drifts wide of Asmir Begovic's right post.

  4. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Christian Norgaard allows the ball to roll behind and coughs up a Bournemouth corner.

    Poor call from the Dane.

    The corner was equally disappointing.

Marcus Forss stole on to the ball and drove down the right. Loses it eventually, but cleared the lines well. Sharp sniping there.

  5. Second-halfpublished at 45 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

How does a Championship manager cope with the stresses and strains of a promotion six-pointer?

Thomas Frank does it with a little bag of jelly sweets.

    Nice.

Anyway, we're back up and running.

As the players down on the sunny south coast are taking a well deserved pause for a drink and a nice little sit down let's have a quick look at what's still to come in the Championship today.

In short, Norwich could win the title, Watford could be promoted to the Premier League and Wycombe and Sheffield Wednesday could both be relegated to League One.

Quite a lot at stake then and we'll be turning our attention to all of that, plus the action in League One and Two, straight after this game

Here's all of today's 15:00 BST kick offs for you to look at in handy list form:

    • Barnsley v Rotherham United
    • Blackburn Rovers v Huddersfield Town
    • Cardiff City v Wycombe Wanderers
    • Coventry City v Preston North End
    • Derby County v Birmingham City
    • Middlesbrough v Sheffield Wednesday
    • Nottingham Forest v Stoke City
    • Queens Park Rangers v Norwich City
    • Watford v Millwall

    Portsmouth 1-0 Bristol Rovers

Ronan Curtis scores for PortsmouthImage source, Rex Features

Portsmouth have just taken the lead at Fratton Park through Ronan Curtis.

Joey Barton's Rovers HAVE to win if they're to keep their incredibly sim survival hopes alive past 15:00 BST but realistically it's all over for them.

It could be a big day in the third tier with as many as three teams (Bristol Rovers, Northampton and Swindon) in line to go down and Hull City looking to secure promotion back to the Championship.

    HT: Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Thomas Frank will possibly be the happier of the two bosses, as his side have stifled Bournemouth going forward for the most part and David Raya hasn't had too much to do.

At the other end, Mathias Jansen has started to get a foothold in midfield and his radar keeps picking up the dangerous Ivan Toney.

Bournemouth look most dangerous when they have got Arnaut Danjuma, Philip Billing and Junior Stanislas on the ball around the box.

Dominic Solanke keeps making those runs, hanging on the shoulder, and law of averages he will slip the net at some point - all about the finish then...

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Very entertaining fare.

No goals to show for it though.

Brentford have largely shackled the free-scoring Bournemouth attack, although Junior Stanislas slipped when he was played through one-on-one and fluffed his effort.

At the other end, Asmir Begovic did well to deny Ivan Toney when he zipped through, and the Bees had a couple of chances toward the end of the half which just couldn't find the back of the net.

    Finely poised.

    Brentford ending the half strongly.

Mathias Jensen swings a pass to Ivan Toney on the edge of the Bournemouth box and he takes into his stride on the outside of the boot before fizzing a skiddy low shot toward the far corner but it sizzles wide.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Brentford win the ball in midfield as Marcus Forss snaps into a tackle and Mathias Jensen sets off towards the Bournemouth box.

Instead of shooting he tries to tee up Ivan Toney but his cross-shot wings wide.

  12. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Brentford happy to go back to David Raya when no space presents itself, and he then pings a beautiful crossfield pass to Sergi Canos, who brought it out of the air with a delightful touch on the outside of his boot, stopping it dead.

Didn't come to anything, but the touch was sublime. Just took it down, full-pelt, with consumate calm.

  13. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Bournemouth carve open the Brentford defence again as Dominic Solanke is played into the box, but Sergi Canos scoots across to clear.

The Cherries' fluid attack has been difficult to pick up, particularly Junior Stanislas and Arnaut Danjuma who keep dropping between the lines and finding gaps to operate.

  14. CLOSE!published at 37 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

    Sergi Canos comes very close.

The Brentford forward picks up a pass on the left of the box, stands up Adam Smith and then fires a shot to the far post which Steve Cook nods behind.

The corner is recycled and loaded to the far post but Christian Norgaard cannot stretch to turn it back across.

  15. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Thomas Frank has his notepad and old school-style pencil out scrawling notes furiously, as his Brentford side make their way through this first half on level pegging.

He has had plenty to write down in this half.

  16. CLOSE!published at 33 mins

Begovic saves from ToneyImage source, Rex Features

Ivan Toney misses, one-on-one with Asmir Begovic.

What a chance that was for Brentford.

Vitaly Janelt's through-ball fell kindly after Bournemouth failed to cut it out and Toney was in.

He drew Begovic before trying to slot it between the legs but the Bosnian did enough to stop it trickling through.

Super stop. Surely Toney will feel he should have scored.

  17. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Bournemouth are swamping the Brentford box, and all 10 Bees outfield players in their crisp white shirts are stuck defending as the red and black opponents buzz about.

Their patience and positioning just pays off, as Dominic Solanke is caught offside.

  18. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Really sharp passing from Bournemouth gets Diego Rico down the left and his drilled cross is turned behind by the Bees defence.

Some subtle movement and equally bright passing sees space opened up for Rico to get in.

Marcus Forss helps the subsequent corner away from danger and the visitors break, but Tariqe Fosu is halted at the expense of a throw.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 24 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Pontus Jansson would have probably been sin-binned for a shoulder charge on Dominic Solanke if this were rugby league, and having just scythed through Philip Billing, he's now been booked in football.

Yellow card for the Swede. Bees skipper.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 23 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford

Asmir Begovic has to get down to his right to parry away a Mathias Jensen shot from the edge of the box.

Brentford's midfielder dug it out and fired low.

    Fine stop.

Bournemouth get a free-kick on the back of the ball into the box from the corner as Pontus Jansson leaves Dominic Solanke writhing around on the deck.
