    Bayern Munich 1-0 Chelsea

If you're going to win any trophies - let alone a possible quadruple - there are going to be times when you're going to have to dig in and show your character.

This feels like one of those moments for Chelsea.

They had started well but have suffered a setback. Bayern now have a corner after Sam Kerr heads behind while defending a free-kick.

Chelsea goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger has been excellent this season but an uncharacteristic error proves costly.

The German keeper flaps at a cross from Bayern's Hanna Glas and Sydney Lohmann is there to head in the opener.

Millie Bright is almost able to clear it off the line but the header is too powerful.

Pernille Harder finds Chelsea team-mate Guro Reiten in plenty of space just outside the box.

The Norway midfielder steadies herself but her shot goes comfortably over.

It's encouraging though and a warning sign for Bayern.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Chelsea

Bayern have their first little spell of possession but the Chelsea defence does well to stop them getting the ball into the danger area.

Magdalena Eriksson's injury absence is a big miss for Chelsea at the back, with Sophie Ingle stepping in - as she did in their midweek draw at Manchester City.

It's worth mentioning that Bayern's top scorer Lea Schuller is only on the bench for the German league leaders.

She has 23 goals in 26 games this season!

Fair to say the standards are high in both squads.

Emma Hayes is already patrolling her technical area as her Chelsea side are passing the ball around nicely at the back.

Pernille Harder tries a through ball for striker Sam Kerr but the pass is slightly overhit.

Chelsea have certainly started the brighter.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side may have missed out on claiming the quadruple this season but Emma Hayes remains on course to lead Chelsea women to a historic four-trophy haul.

Chelsea's draw with Manchester City in an enthralling Women's Super League top-of-the-table match on Wednesday put them in the driving seat in the league while the League Cup is already in the bag and there's an FA Cup trophy still to fight for.

Chelsea are looking to become the first side since 2007 - and only the second English side in history - to complete the quadruple.

So how was it achieved before? Does it seem likely Chelsea will do it? And what will it take? This piece from Emma Sanders has some of the answers.

Fran Kirby believes Chelsea have proved they "belong" on the grandest European stages as they stand on the verge of a first Women's Champions League final.

Chelsea visit Bayern Munich in Sunday's semi-final first leg, having exited the competition at this stage twice in the past four campaigns.

Frauen-Bundesliga leaders Bayern are also bidding to reach a first final.

"It all comes with experience, with how many times we've been in this position," said England forward Kirby.

"As we've grown in the tournament, we've grown in confidence, we've grown in belief and we've grown in quality.

"This tournament has pushed our team to the limits and I think you learn a lot from failure, defeat and feeling hurt, feeling disappointed that you didn't manage to get over that final hurdle."

With French giants Lyon out of the competition, the Women's Champions League trophy will have a new winner's name on it this season.
