HT: Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
All the chat coming into the match was about Arsenal's woes and Newcastle having a good chance to get a rare win over the gunners.
That hasn't panned out, has it?
Arsenal have had 13 shots so far - their most in the first half of a Premier League game since February 2018 v Everton (13).
HT: Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
I said I'd tell you that Aubameyang anecdote, didn't I? Not sure how exciting it is. But anyway... the Arsenal superstar was part of the Gabon squad which was based in Newcastle at the London 2012 Olympics.
Think he was playing for St Etienne and a few years off being the household name he is now.
And his first match on English soil came against a bunch of Newcastle part-timers on a Sunday league pitch.
One for those lads to tell the grandkids! Check out the extraordinary pictures here., external

Aubameyang demonstrates once again how hugely overrated he is. I for one would be happy to see him on the transfer list.

Poor from Newcastle, professional from Arsenal.
Mohamed Elneny's lovely early strike separates the two sides.
(Yes, you read that right. Elneny!)

Only 37% possession on home turf is simply not good enough to survive in the premier league that is if Newcastle save their status this season!!!

Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
We're well into the two minutes of stoppage time which Newcastle have to try and get back into the game before the break.
Not looking likely that they will salvage anything before the half-time oranges.

There's a real comfort about Arsenal but we've watched them too often this season to say its going to stay this way.
Newcastle will ask questions with the pace they've got. I'm not saying Arsenal will fold, but when their confidence goes down they are a totally different side.
Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
Half a chance for Newcastle. They burst down the left but, with only Callum Wilson in the box, can't find him and Arsenal block the attempted cross.

Forget the Old Trafford stuff. The key question is: when are Arsenal going to gift Newcastle their equalizer?

Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
Arsenal quickly move the ball up the other end after winning back possession and Miguel Almiron, who quickly scampers back to defend, gives away a free-kick on the edge of the Newcastle box.
He got booked a few moments ago, but Mike Dean waves away the Arsenal players who are reminding him of that.
Nothing doing from the free-kick by the way. Martin Odegaard's effort was poor.
Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
Newcastle inject some pace through Miguel Almiron, who bursts forward like he's got jets in his heels.
He slips the ball forward to Callum Wilson, but the Newcastle striker slips and stumbles on the ball inside the Arsenal half. Chance gone.

If spectators were allowed at SJP then Newcastle fans would simply not allow their team to play like this. The Toon need to wake up!

Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
Jonjo Shelvey goes more direct in a bid to alleviate the pressure, spraying a ball out right to Allan Saint-Maximin. The Frenchman can't get the ball under control though to trouble Granit Xhaka.
Newcastle have had just the one shot on target...

Come on Newcastle go for it and change the formation.

Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
Still Arsenal are dominating at St James' Park and looking likelier to score the second of the game.
Dani Ceballos's cute throughball almost slices open the Newcastle defence, before Gabriel Martinelli tries to get round the side on the left.
A couple of let-offs for Newcastle, but they can't continue to allow Arsenal have such a free ride.

Thousands of Manchester United fans began a protest against the club’s owners at Old Trafford this afternoon.
Scores of green and gold flares - the colours of United’s first shirts when they were Newton Heath and the original anti-Glazer protests in 2010 - were set off at the start of the protest at 14:00BST.
It is understood other protesters went to the team hotel ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side’s departure for this afternoon’s Premier League game against Liverpool.Hundreds of fans have been on the pitch and many are now exiting through gates across a road that normally allows the team buses through.
No media are being allowed through the gates as normal until the situation is cleared.
It is understood the Premier League, who have a compliance officer on site, do not belief there is an issue about the game going ahead from a purely coronavirus perspective as there was no admission to dressing rooms.

More from that extraordinary story at Old Trafford. According to BBC journalists there, the fans are starting to leave the pitch and there is no danger of the match being affected.
Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
Mohamed Elneny has turned into Ian Wright! Well, almost. The Arsenal midfielder also doubles his tally for the club - both today and in his career - with a flying header that Jonjo Shelvey has to head off the line.
That's why you have a man on the post...
