Better! Joelinton causes a nuisance in the Arsenal penalty box and when a half clearance falls to Jonjo Shelvey, the Newcastle skipper thumps a fizzing shot into a Gunners body.

Arsenal haven't really been put under any pressure at all. It's a real shame for Newcastle fans because the first half was really quite good and you think they can step it up in the second half. But it's been so insipid and they haven't really had a go.

Heading towards the final 10 minutes of normal time at St James' Park. There have not been any obvious signs of attacking improvement from the hosts after the introduction of Joelinton.

Just when you think a corner is turned, Newcastle revert to type under Bruce. They'll stay up because Fulham bottled it. Bruce needs to go he's spent money and taken this team hugely backwards, no hope, no plan.

Newcastle should be on the front foot now getting beat 0-2 is no worse than losing 0-1. Come on lads put your hearts into it.

It's a brilliantly worked goal. The ball goes out to Xhaka on the left hand side and there was nice play from Aubameyang before, but he just leaves it and heads for the back post and there at the back post he gets on the end of his cushioned volley.
It's a deserved 2-0 lead and the surprise is that Newcastle will go and make changes now that they should have made five minutes ago to give themselves some sort of chance. I know a lot of Newcastle fans get fed up with the lack of willingness to go and attack. Arsenal have never been put under any pressure and this game looks as if it could be gone
Newcastle 0-2 Arsenal
Newcastle look for a glimmer of hope with a free-kick into the box. Arsenal head clear and then launch a counter which ends in Hector Bellerin's shot being diverted wide for a corner.
That's the danger now for Newcastle...

Want a positive, Newcastle fans? You were 4-0 down to Arsenal in that game 10 years ago...
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Who else for Arsenal against Newcastle? Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang grabs his customary goal against the Magpies with a flying, stretching volley at the far post.
Lovely pick out from Gabriel Martinelli, who stays marginally onside to whip in an inch-perfect cross.
Steve Bruce folds his arms and bows his head. Could be game over.
