Allan Fiddes: VAR is a waste of time if that’s not a red card for a keeper handling the ball outside the area then what is?

Aidan: Steve Bruce? The bloke with 5 wins in 25 games, not decent at all.

So do Newcastle's other five league wins this season not count then?

The Premier League sands of time are running out for Fulham.

Seeing that Areola incident with Vydra again, the ball clearly comes off the goalkeeper's arm. The goalkeeper is out of the penalty area. Yet stays on.

Truly baffling. We'll add that to the long list of dubious VAR decisions.

    Fulham 0-2 Burnley

Fulham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, probably lucky to still be on the field, dives to his left to deny Burnley a third and keep out Jay Rodriguez's effort.

Handsome Nick: Leno - Arsenal vs Wolves = Straight red card Areloa - Fulham vs Burnley = No foul The Premier League usage of VAR is shocking. We need competent referees who know what their job as the VAR official is. They aren't there just to back up their friend on the field.

Matt: I didn't know goalkeepers could handle the ball outside of the box now? Shocking VAR, yet again.

Kevin Taylor: Can anyone explain to me how that isn’t a handball outside the box by the keeper? Unbelievable that nothing is given there.

  6. HITS THE WOODWORK - Anguissa (Fulham)published at 70 mins

    Fulham 0-2 Burnley

Almost a way back into this one for Fulham. Ademola Lookman again does well he pulls it back and it's perfect for Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa to run on to it at the edge of the box.

He sidefoots it at goal, it's beaten Nick Pope, but bounces off the underside of the bar, down just in front of the line and away.

    Fulham 0-2 Burnley

A change for Burnley the impressive Matej Vydra, who made the first goal, goes off and on comes Jay Rodriguez for the final 22 minutes.

Three goals in just over 20 minutes for Fulham needed to keep the relegation battle alive for a few more days.

Alphonse Areola is very lucky. He comes steaming out of his area and bumps into Matej Vydra. The ball may well have come off the goalkeeper's arm when he's outside the box as Vydra attempted to go around him.

If it did, Areola could've been sent off. No excitement from VAR and the Fulham goalkeeper may well have just got away with that one.

    Fulham 0-2 Burnley

Fulham's Ademola Lookman stumbled in the penalty area but James Tarkowski had just pulled out of a challenge when a lunge may have proved risky.

Cargomitch: The PL teams between 12th and 18th position all have well respected and coveted managers (bar Steve Bruce perhaps) Tough league.

Considering the injuries and problems with Covid-19 that Newcastle have had, getting them to safety with three games to spare is also a pretty decent job done from Steve Bruce too.

Mitrovic. Chance. Header. Straight at Nick Pope.

The striker was having to move away from goal and tried to use all his strength to head it goalwards from six yards out but it's easy for the England keeper.

Mitrovic then has another chance with his head, but sends it just wide and into the side netting. Better from Fulham.

Maja gets an early touch and helps Fulham win a corner. Ademola Lookman takes it from the left but Nick Pope can punch it clear after Bobby De Cordova-Reid flicked it on at the near post.

  13. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Fulham 0-2 Burnley

Fulham have had much more of the ball, but not done much with it.

A first change of the night for them with Kenny Tete off and striker Josh Maja, on loan from Bordeaux, on as Fulham go for it.

David Ashworth: I think it's fair to say Sean Dyche does a remarkable job at Burnley. One of the smallest budgets in the Premier League. It's a credit to Burnley as well, giving 3 and a half thousand tickets to the loyal supporters for the final home game of the season.

Will from London: To be relegated is bad enough, but to be completely outplayed by Burnley in a must win game is embarrassing. Parker's negative tactics may have nicked a win here and there but there's no way you can survive like that. Hope Spurs take him off our hands, or I pray they do.
