Fabio Carvalho has had a few little spells with his feet, few little tricks and flicks and looks like he has fab feet that can get in tight areas and wants to try and make something happen. He's got that raw talent where you try things but you're not always expected to do them. Hopefully he can get in a bit of space and we can see him create something for his side.

Questions are being asked about whether Danny Ings is going to be here or not next season. When you're down at the bottom of the table having a player like him who can score 13 goals a season makes a big difference.

In Germany, Robert Lewandowski has just become the second player to ever score 40 goals in a Bundesliga season.

Even more remarkably it's only his 28th league game of the season because of a recent injury.

  19. Ings' impact immeasurable?published at 14:55 British Summer Time 15 May 2021

The widely held belief is that Southampton struggle somewhat when Danny Ings is injured - and the stats very much bear that out.

Since Ings joined the Saints at the start of the 2018-19 campaign, initially on a season-long loan from Liverpool, he's had an undoubted impact.

When he's been sidelined, their goal output has dipped slightly but their win ratio and points per game tally drop dramatically. Saints have won just four of the 23 games he has missed over the past three seasons.

The England striker returned from his latest niggle in midweek against Crystal Palace and what happened? He scored twice and Saints won.

    FT: Burnley 0-4 Leeds

    Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche speaking to BBC Sport: "We had a big emotional result on Monday. We gave the players and couple of days off and started ever so brightly.

"We conceded against the flow of the game from a kind of Leeds moment when the game gets stretched. And then it was kind of one of those strange halves where you think we are not a million miles away. They get an early goal and we have two golden chances and we don't take them and they do.

"There was not much in the game but they were very clinical and we weren't.

"It's hard to tinker when you haven't got many players. Mostly we carry around 20 players and there've been times when we've had seven injuries so it's been a bit stretched let's say.

"We have got 39 points and earned the right to be in the Premier League. We need to build. I really like the club record of being in the Premier League season on season.

"Different results can happen, fans have not been in stadiums there have been lots of different things [to contend with].

On the referee speaking to both managers and captains: "There was a report made to the referee about an incident on the pitch, reported by one of my players."
