It's been a fairly lively start with both teams doing plenty of attacking. West Ham now but Vladimir Coufal's cross is too high for Michail Antonio.

    Brighton 0-0 West Ham

Pascal Gross' corner is good but it's punched away by Lukasz Fabianski. Dan Burn and Jesse Lingard were taking part in a rather one-sided physical battle there.

Brighton win a corner out of almost nothing as Leandro Trossard's cross from deep takes a deflection.

    Poor pass from Pascal Gross.

Steven Alzate plays him in down the right - but Gross' ball into the box is in between Danny Welbeck and Leandro Trossard.

Almost an early chance for West Ham as Pablo Fornals puts a ball across the six-yard box but nobody is there to tap in.

Brighton v West Ham (20:00 BST)

West Ham have lost three of their past four league matches - as many defeats as they had suffered in their previous 17 top-flight games.

The Hammers have only won two of their 11 Premier League fixtures on Saturdays this season.

Their eight away league victories this season is just two shy of the club top-flight record.

West Ham's home defeat by Everton last weekend all but finished off their hopes of making the top four, even though it is still mathematically possible. I see more frustration for David Moyes' side here too.

Brighton will be without suspended duo Lewis Dunk and Neal Maupay after their red cards against Wolves but I still think Brighton will get something out of the game.

Staying up again this time means the Seagulls will spend a fifth consecutive season in the top flight for the first time in their history, which is a great achievement.

Well done to Brighton boss Graham Potter, and to the club's board - because they went out on a limb to bring him in as manager in 2019, and gave him a long contract too.

    Prediction: 1-1

Brighton have won three of their past seven home league games, one more than in their previous 23 matches at the Amex Stadium.

They head into the fixture unbeaten in three home matches, taking seven points.

The Seagulls have kept six clean sheets in their nine Premier League home games in 2021.

Brighton manager Graham Potter in his programme notes: "As news broke on Monday night that our Premier League status had been confirmed for another season there was, of course, a sense of achievement and, indeed, relief, given the competitive nature of the division and the fine margins that exist.

"We know just how hard we’ve had to work to keep ourselves away from the bottom three this season and we’ve managed to do that.

"Yet we are also aware that we are still only a relatively short way through our journey. The foundations are in place for all to see; but we also know there are areas where we need to improve, and we will look to make further improvements next season."

Steve Bruce is manager of the month, Jesse Lingard is player of the month

Jesse Lingard, who is on loan at West Ham from Manchester United, won the Premier League player of the month award.

The 28-year-old England midfielder scored four goals and claimed an assist for the Hammers in April as he also won the award for the first time in his career.

"We’ve enjoyed having him and I’m sure he’s enjoying being here as well because he’s giving a lot back," said West Ham boss David Moyes.

"He’s been back in the England squad, and I hope we see him go on to make the Euros, and then in time we’ll find out whether Jesse will be a Manchester United player or if he’ll play for somebody else."

Brighton have already achieved their aim of avoiding relegation. They are 10 points clear of the relegation zone with three games to go.

Their performances merit being higher than 17th in the table, even though their results obviously don't.

Brighton v West Ham (20:00 BST)

Even if West Ham fall just short of the Champions League places, they've got every chance of qualifying for Europe.

Sixth place is likely to be a Europa League spot, with seventh a place in the Europa Conference League.

The last time West Ham were in Europe was 2016-17. The last time they got into a tournament proper (excluding qualifiers) was 2006-07.

Six points off the top four with a game in hand.

West Ham surely need to win all three remaining games and hope for a favour or three from teams above them.

Can they keep their dreams alive with victory at Brighton today?
