Mohamed Salah has a few nice touches inside the box. He plays a one-two with Sadio Mane and the latter goes down.

There's only a few faint appeals for a penalty. Liverpool have a corner instead.

The same West Brom duo link up for the short corner but the delivery towards Kyle Bartley is dealt with by Rhys Williams.

Darnell Furlong's effort from the next corner goes comfortably wide.

West Brom win a free-kick near the right touchline. Conor Gallagher and Matheus Pereira are over it.

It's Pereira who curls it in but Thiago nods it behind at the near post.

Sam Johnstone did well. He stood up and backed himself to make the block. He's an imposing figure and did enough.

Liverpool break down the left and it's threaded through to Mohamed Salah.

The angle is fairly tight but he gets a shot off and Sam Johnstone does well to block it and keep hold of the rebound.

The two young Liverpool centre-backs are being brave and pushing way into the West Brom half, which allows everyone else to play and press that much higher up the pitch.

Sadio Mane turns in the middle and runs into the space using his pace.

He opts not to shoot and slips in Mohamed Salah but he's quickly closed down by two defenders.

West Brom are camped in their half but Liverpool are struggling to find a way through.

Thiago and Curtis Jones try to create an opening but they are pushed back.

Liverpool have been bright and looked to use that attack quickly. West Brom perhaps need to just take a moment to re-calibrate and say 'look, we are up against a good side here, let's just defend for a few minutes.'

Mohamed Salah is annoyed at himself because he was one-on-one with the defender and couldn't get a shot off.

Liverpool have all the possession again in this half.

Thiago fizzes it through to Trent Alexander-Arnold and he fires it back across goal.

It's not cleared properly, Mohamed Salah curls it into the back post and Sadio Mane pokes it in but he's offside.

As it stands, Liverpool are three points behind fourth place with two games and 45 minutes to go.

Craig Smith: Liverpool need to stop giving cheap free kicks away. West Brom will continue to go down easy, and stay down, to waste time in the second half as a frustration tactic. Better to lower the intensity of challenges.
