Both teams are safe and don’t have anything major to play for so hopefully without the added stress we could see an open game.

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

It was great to see Jack Grealish return from injury when he came off the bench in Aston Villa's midweek draw with Everton, but it is asking a lot for him to hit the ground running and have his usual impact in games.

So I am going for Crystal Palace. They have lost four of their past five games but I don't think they are playing as badly as those results suggest.

    Prediction: 2-1

Everton v Sheffield United (19:00 BST)

James Rodriguez is fit and available for Everton after a three-match absence with a calf injury.

Defender Yerry Mina is not yet ready to return from a minor adductor problem.

Sheffield United have suffered a triple injury blow with the news that Sander Berge, Oliver Burke and Ethan Ampadu are unlikely to play again this season.

Berge recently returned from a long-term injury and won't be risked after suffering a niggle. Burke has a foot fracture and Ampadu a pelvic issue.

It's his first Premier League appearance for Palace and his first in the top-flight since May 2018 for Stoke City.

    BBC Radio 5 Live

We've got a full schedule on BBC Radio 5 Live today.

This game misses out but there's live commentary of Tottenham v Wolves and West Brom v Liverpool before 606.

The Women's Champions League final is also on.

  9. What's in it for Villa?published at 11:18 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

Crystal Palace v Aston Villa (12:00 BST)

    Again, not much.

Their tally of 49 points is already their highest in a Premier League season since reaching 64 in 2009-10 under Martin O'Neill.

Villa currently sit four points off Leeds United with a better goal difference so that is a realistic target.

Victory today would move them to within one point of that 10th spot.

  10. Early team newspublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

West Brom v Liverpool (16:30 BST)

Loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles is available for West Brom, having been ineligible to face his parent club Arsenal last weekend.

Robert Snodgrass continues to recover from back surgery, while Branislav Ivanovic remains out with a hamstring injury.

Jurgen Klopp doesn't expect any major changes to the squad that faced Manchester United on Thursday night.

Ozan Kabak, James Milner, Naby Keita and Ben Davies remain doubts.

  11. What's in it for Palace?published at 11:13 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

Crystal Palace v Aston Villa (12:00 BST)

So what's the play for? Nothing really.

Palace could still reach the 50-point mark for the first time in a Premier League season but they will need to win all their final three games.

They have been a little sluggish at home though.

Palace have scored 31 Premier League goals at home since the start of last season - fewer than any of the 17 teams to have played both campaigns.

They have also scored just twice in their last six home league matches.

  12. Early team newspublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

    Tottenham v Wolves (14:05 BST)

Tottenham remain without defender Ben Davies, who is unlikely to feature again this season.

Interim head coach Ryan Mason has no fresh injury concerns as Spurs seek to improve their European prospects.

Wolves have Willy Boly and Marcal back in training but this weekend may come too soon for them.

Adama Traore could be in line for a return to the side following his goal as a substitute against Brighton last weekend.

Clearly my neighbour is ready for this game. He's got his Palace shirt on and a coffee out on the balcony.

It's surprisingly sunny here and it looks like the weather is nice down in London too.

  14. Elsewhere in Europe...published at 11:08 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

There's a few interesting fixtures across the European top leagues too.

Juventus secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over champions Inter Milan yesterday (there were three penalties, three VAR pitchside monitor reviews, two red cards and a last-gasp winner).

That kept their hopes of securing Champions League qualification alive but they could do with Napoli losing to Fiorentina today (11:30 BST).

Second and third in the Bundesliga go head-to-head too - RB Leipzig v Wolfsburg kicks off at (19:30 BST).

  15. Blues in European finalpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

    Chelsea v Barcelona (20:00 BST)

It's also a huge day for Chelsea, who are in the Women's Champions League final.

They take on Barcelona from 20:00 BST in Sweden and remain on course to win a historic quadruple.
