    Dundee Utd 0-2 Hibernian

My first thought was it was close to offside. The build-up play was incredible for Hibs. My word, it's a brilliant finish. Take nothing away from him, what a finish. A bit of controversy added to that one

A sublime finish - but the scorer looks suspiciously offside.

The goal stems from lovely build-up play between Kevin Nisbet and Martin Boyle, whose pass releases Doidge to stroke the ball past Deniz Mehmet from 20 yards.

    United will be absolutely fuming.

I think a change was required. I don't think the Dundee United front three have linked enough together. It looked as though the manager gave the substitute to pass on to the midfield players

  7. Postpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

    Dundee Utd 0-1 Hibernian

Ryan Porteous, who's on a booking, dices with dangers as he kicks the ball away after a foul had been awarded.

The Hibs defender gets away with it and United can't make anything of the free-kick.

  8. Postpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

    Dundee Utd 0-1 Hibernian

Hibs striker Christian Doidge can't get a clean connection on his header from a Melker Hallberg corner and the ball drifts harmlessly behind.

United make the the first substitution, with Adrian Sporle on for Nicky Clark.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

    Dundee Utd 0-1 Hibernian

A tactical yellow card from Ryan Porteous as the Hibs defender cynically halts the rampaging run of Marc McNulty just outside the box.

Nicky Clark aims for the top corner with the resultant free-kick but it goes nowhere near.

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

    Dundee Utd 0-1 Hibernian

Hibs are straight on the attack and screaming for a penalty when Martin Boyle's cross hits the arm of Mark Reynolds.

To be fair to the United defender, he was only yards away. But, as the old cliche goes, you've seen them given.

I was hoping to see United do what they did to Aberdeen in the semi-final, but Hibs have been easily the better team. They could run away with this if Hibs don't improve.

  20. HALF-TIME Dundee United 0-1 Hibernianpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

Well, that was Hibernian's half and Dundee United's only solace at this stage is that it's only 1-0.

Kevin Nisbet had threatened before his goal and a bit more composure in the final third from Jack Ross' side would surely have extended their lead. United have it all to do.
