Referee Veronika Kovarova doesn't add any injury time at the end of the first-half. She puts Latvia out of their misery.

Arta Lubina denied Bethany England a great chance to get among the goals. It's a wonderfully timed tackle to take it off the striker's toe.

Latvia have gotten a little bit tighter and closer to the England players, particularly around the box, they're not giving England as much time.

Hopefully for them they can continue in that vein but I'm not sure how long they can keep England out for.

This half can simply be summed up as a game of attack versus defence.

England have controlled 81% possession and had 27 shots at goal. Ten of them have been on target with six going in, of course.

Corner number five for England. Latvia have managed to keep England out since the 23rd minute, but they have been put under merciless pressure.

Latvia aren't able to clear the initial danger from the corner and Millie Bright ends up heading off target from an Alex Greenwood cross.

She rises highest to meet a lofted cross from Beth Mead. White, however, fails to keep her effort down and sends it well over.

This would have been something special, if Georgia Stanway managed to get a better connection on her volley.

Alex Greenwood clips a wonderful diagonal ball across to Stanway on the right. She lunges, gets a foot to it but fails to get any sort of control on her shot.

It's been brilliant. The level of intensity from the England players, the quality on the ball and the press when they haven't got the ball.

If they do lose the ball, which isn't often, they're very vocal and quick to tell each other what they think about it.

Ellen White is looking to play the role of provider now.

She has room to exploit on the right and tries to find Bethany England at the front post.

The ball is ballooned high by a covering defender, but England still manages to get a head on it. Her effort, however, goes harmlessly off target.
