It's a bit of a homecoming for skipper Millie Bright who returns to Doncaster - her first club - for the first time in an England shirt.

Chelsea team-mate Bethany England was here too and has earned a start tonight, while goalkeeper Mary Earps also spent a year with the Belles.

Northern Ireland hit nine past North Macedonia at Seaview

Northern Ireland thrashed North Macedonia 9-0 on Monday to ended a memorable year on a high and move up to second in Group D.

Rachel Furness - Northern Ireland's leading women's scorer of all time - surpassed David Healy's men's record of 36 goals.

You can watch the highlights of the game above.

It would take a big win from Austria against Luxembourg tonight to displace Northern Ireland in second on goal difference.

I spoke to former England midfielder Katie Chapman earlier in the week to look ahead to Sunday's Women's FA Cup final, but we also spoke briefly about the Lionesses.

When asked about what she thought of the Sarina Wiegman era so far, Chapman replied: "It’s a hard question to answer.

"We are yet to see England tested. It’s great that we are scoring loads and loads of goals, but I don’t think they have been put in a place where they have really been tested yet.

"I think she has given players opportunities, which is always great because we have a lot of young talent players coming through.

"She has also been unfortune with injuries to experienced players and has had to change the captaincy a fair bit for the moment."

Top face bottom tonight, as England host Latvia.

England have scored a staggering 33 goals and conceded NONE in their five Women's World Cup qualifying wins so far.

Latvia are very much the opposite. They are the only nation in Group D yet to pick up a point, have conceded 26 goals and netted just twice in their four games to date.

Sarina Wiegman makes three changes to the England side from the 1-0 win over Austria.

Arsenal defender Lotte Wubben-Moy is handed her first start, while former Doncaster Belles striker Bethany England is in the XI.

Georgia Stanway also starts in midfield. Demi Stokes, Fran Kirby and Rachel Daly drop out.

England XI: Earps, Bright, Wubben-Moy, Walsh, Greenwood, Toone, Mead, Stanway, White, England, Hemp.

Subs: Charles, MacIver, Kirby, Carter, Daly, Nobbs, Stokes, Scott, Hampton, Russo, Zelem.

There are four changes to the Latvia side who lost 10-0 to England last month. They have a new midfield duo and goalkeeper Laura Sinutkina comes in for Enija Anna Vaivode.

Latvia XI: Sinutkina, Tumane, Gaike, Freidenfelde, Lubina, Senberga, Zaicikova, Gornela, Voitane, Baliceva, Gergeleziu.

Subs: Lindermane, Sklemenova, Lodzina, Rozascenoka, Smirnova, Vingrevica, Vitmore, Gricijenko, Skribina, Brahmane.

Beth Mead reckons her fellow forward Ellen White has "the quality to score plenty of goals" against a team ranked 94 places below England in the world rankings.

White has scored six of England's 33 goals during the qualifying campaign so far, so it's a fairly good prediction.

The Lionesses camp - from boss Wiegman and White, as well as all her team-mates - have not made too much of the potentially record-breaking undertaking.

Mead, however, did share a little insight during the pre-match press conference.

"When that happens [White breaking the scoring record], it will be an amazing moment for her and us as a team, and we will all be right behind her celebrating that moment," Mead said.

"I've looked up to Ellen for a long time before I was in the England set-up and now that I'm here playing alongside her, I'm learning from her day in and day out in training and in games.

"She is someone that I would love to replicate scoring goals like. I hope she can help me in my journey as well as I can help her in hers."

The last time these two met, England put 10 past Latvia. Perhaps surprisingly, Ellen White only scored once in that game.

She needs two goals tonight to break Kelly Smith's all-time Lionessess record and there's a good chance she will do it.

Sarina Wiegman - and White - insist England's priority is to win the game and it should be.

But for those of us watching in the stands or at home, it's a question of how long it will take for White to get the goals she needs.

  11. Welcomepublished at 18:31 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2021

After a hard-earned win against Austria in freezing conditions in Sunderland on Saturday, the forecast for Doncaster tonight is one of low pressure with a high chance of goals.

Terrible weather puns aside, England are expected to make light work of Latvia in tonight's Women's World Cup qualifier at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The Lionesses beat Latvia 10-0 in Riga just five weeks ago.

Plenty of goals are again anticipated, with an extra focus on whether or not Ellen White is among the scorers...
