  4. Goodwin 'delighted' with seventh placepublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

FT: St Mirren 0-0 Dundee United

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin says securing a seventh-place finish in the Premiership is a "big achievement" for the club.

"It was a decent enough game as far as 0-0 draws go," he tells BBC Sportsound.

"I think a draw was a fair result over the whole piece. It would have been very easy for both sets of players to try and avoid injury and see the season out.

"I’m delighted we were able to get the result to secure seventh place. Most teams maybe don’t want to be celebrating finishing seventh but for us it’s a big achievement off the back of the season we’ve had. We missed out on the top six, we wanted to finish best of the rest and we’ve managed it. I’m very pleased."

Dundee score a lot of goals and Kilmarnock don't keep too many clean sheets. They need a game plan to make sure they are in strong position going into the home leg

  7. 'Accies kids will get an opportunity in Championship'published at 14:33 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

    FT: Hamilton 0-2 Kilmarnock

"The Championship is such a tough league but the kids will get an opportunity and it might be better for them than being in the Premiership," says Hamilton chairman Allan Maitland.

"But we'll need experience too and we need to work hard to make sure we get the right players in."

  8. Rice hopeful of bouncing back with Acciespublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

    FT: Hamilton 0-2 Kilmarnock

Hamilton head coach Brian Rice sounds deflated but also cautiously optimistic of bouncing straight back now that the club's seven-year stint in the top flight is over.

"We saw signs today of what these young kids have got and why they're playing in Premiership at the age they are," he says. "Hopefully that's the foundations that we've got for next season.

"If we can get the bodies in there then I'd like to think we can mount a challenge [in the Championship]. I'm a winner - I want to win. So when you get beat it's hard not to show it sometimes. That's how I am and I'm not going to change."

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Ross County

A delighted Ross County manager John Hughes tells BBC Sportsound: "We found a shape that suits us, we've got boys who can look after the ball, we've got boys who can dig in, and all the credit goes to the players. They were all in it together.

"It just shows how the football gods play out, with two goals from guys who have given so much to this club. Iain Vigurs scored a fantastic goal and Michael Gardyne was cool and composed."

  12. 'I'm pleased with how we are playing' - Wrightpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

    FT: Hamilton 0-2 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock manager Tommy Wright tells BBC Sportsound: "For Ross County to get three wins on the bounce at this stage of the season, you've got to hand it to them.

"I can't ask any more from my players. When I came in I thought 36 points would have been enough. Unfortunately, it isn't.

"But we can take this performance and the performances in the last 10 games into the play-off.

"Dundee have had a good season but we'll concentrate on ourselves and I'm pleased with how we are playing. I think we're in a strong position going in."

  14. Play-off mission next for Killiepublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

    FT: Hamilton 0-2 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock finish the campaign with 36 points from 38 games.

The Ayrshire side have been in the top flight for 28 years but now face two games with Dundee to extend that run.

The first leg at Dens Park is on Thursday, with the return at Rugby Park a week on Monday.

  15. FULL-TIME St Mirren 0-0 Dundee Unitedpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

St Mirren finish top of the pile in the bottom six.

Seventh is the Paisley club's best finish since 1989, when their manager was current chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick.

In terms of the game itself, there was not much to shout about in the second-half apart from United's young left-back Jamie Robson receiving a straight red card for a foul on Kyle McAllister.

Both sides will feel they could have won the game, as Eamonn Brophy and Lawrence Shankland spurned chances at either end in the first half.

  16. FULL-TIME Motherwell 1-2 Ross Countypublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

    Ross County are staying up.

It must have been nerve-wracking as they trailed 1-0 at half-time but excellent goals from stalwarts Iain Vigurs and Michael Gardyne ensure Premiership safety.

That's three wins on the spin for John Hughes' side. They timed that run very well.

  17. FULL-TIME Hamilton 0-2 Kilmarnockpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

A comfortable win for Kilmarnock is not going to be enough.

A play-off with Dundee awaits unless something remarkable happens in stoppage time at Fir Park.

Mitch Pinnock scored twice for the visitors but missed a glorious chance for a hat-trick when his penalty was saved.
