There’s going to be about 4,000 Barnsley fans in here tonight and they’re already making themselves heard loud and clear.

The players are just starting to come out for warm-ups and the Barnsley goalkeepers and coach have just been given a tremendous reception.

The last time any Barnsley fans were in here was back in March 2020.

Fifteen months on a lucky few thousand are back to see them compete for a place in the Premier League.

They've just read out the home side's starting XI and every name got cheered to the rafters in this old place.

We've all been looking forward to seeing fans return to Oakwell tonight - but perhaps not quite as much as Valerien Ismael.

The Barnsley manager has likened his excitement at leading the team in front of the home support to "the feeling of going on a date with your wife for the first time".

Ismael has been in charge of the Tykes since October, but tonight's game will be the first time he will have led the team in front of their supporters.

The last time they played in front of fans at Oakwell, Barnsley lost 2-0 at home to Cardiff City in March 2020 under the management of Gerhard Struber to drop to the bottom of the Championship.

"I'm looking forward to having the feeling of the crowd and it's great that the fans can meet the players," said Ismael.

"You have to enjoy the moment. It's a big thing in the career of all the players. We want to have no regrets at the end of the two games."

  3. Team news - Swansea bench Robertspublished at 19:38 British Summer Time 17 May 2021

    Barnsley v Swansea (20:15 BST)

Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper has made a big call with his team selection by benching Wales right-back Connor Roberts.

Whether it's at right-back or right wing-back, Roberts has been one of the Swans' best players this season.

But it's Kyle Naughton who starts on the right of a back four tonight, with centre-back Ben Cabango replacing Ryan Bennett as the other change from their final game of the regular season, a 2-0 defeat at Watford.

Swansea: Woodman; Naughton, Cabango, Guehi, Bidwell; Grimes, Fulton, Hourihane; Ayew, Cullen, Lowe.

Subs: Hamer, Roberts, Manning, Bennett, Latibeaudiere, Smith, Dhanda, Routledge, Whittaker.
