    Larne 0-1 Linfield

    Well, well, well.

Niall Quinn's crosses are causing all sorts of problems in the Larne defence.

His latest curler beats everyone, apart from Conor Mitchell, who had turned his back to the ball.

The ball bounces off the Larne stopper and out for a corner.

Mitchell breathes a big sigh of relief.

  2. Nobody there!published at 20:11 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

Martin Donnelly drifts inside and floats a lovely pass into Hale.

Conor Pepper jumps in to turn the ball away for a corner. Niall Quinn's heads it behind for another corner, but this time Donnelly's delivery finds Jeff Hughes' near-post dash!

The Larne skipper glances it towards the back post, but there's nobody there to tap the ball home.

    Much better from Larne.

Linfield haven't allowed Larne to settle. They've had a better period in the last 10 minutes but Linfield haven't let them settle in their natural game. Credit to Linfield, for them to stop Larne playing their natural game takes so much energy, can they do it for 90 minutes?

Larne look like they're coming to the party here.

Ronan Hale is dropping deep, getting on the ball and starting to cause Linfield a few problems.

One or two neat passing moves down the left, just under their watching fans, have had those fans on their feet and in full voice to our right.

They're desperate for their team to start showing what they can do and Tiernan Lynch's men are responding.

Lavery chases an inviting long ball over the top.

Conor Mitchell races off his line and doesn't get there! Thankfully, the ice-cool Albert Watson is there to clear the danger.

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

Larne are starting to find their feet after that chaotic start.

John Herron slips a clever pass into Hale's feet. He turns and shoots sharply, but it doesn't have enough power to trouble Chris Johns.

  8. Hale's penalty appeal waved awaypublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

Ronan Hale goes down under Mark Haughey's challenge in the Linfield box.

Referee Andrew Davey shakes his head. But a rare spell of pressure for Larne. Can they build on it?

  9. Larne need to settlepublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Larne 0-1 Linfield

Larne haven't got started in this final.

Manager Tiernan Lynch will be looking to the likes of Jeff Hughes and Albert Watson to get a grip of the game and calm the rest of the team down.

Linfield have been right on the front foot here with both Cammy Palmer and Niall Quinn looking like they've been given licence to get forward with Jamie Mulgrew protecting the back four.

That may have taken Larne by surprise as David Healy more often than not has someone else sitting in alongside his captain.

Larne haven't settled. They've had a couple of errant passes and will have been rocked by Lavery's early strike.

Still a long, long way to go though.

Who else but Shayne Lavery?! Linfield lead after five minutes thanks to Lavery's 30th goal of the season!

Niall Quinn's whips in the corner and Lavery, having eluded Fuad Sule in the six-yard box, is in the perfect place to poke the ball beyond Mitchell.

I thought Larne would have been favourites. They've beaten us more than we've beaten them this season. Losing to them last week tells us that we need to be fully focused, but we're fully prepared.

Our focus was on tonight and on Linfield and to prepare for the game and that's what we've done. It would mean everything to the club. We're very early in our journey but to do something like this would be unbelievable. Dream-making material.
