Anything interesting happen in the semi-final? I hear you ask...

Well, for the benefit of those who have spent the last week living under a rock allow me to remind you of some of the rather dramatic happenings in the last four ties.

Crusaders penalty shootout drama 2.0 dominated the headlines as Cliftonville beat their north Belfast rivals, while Martin Donnelly's late, late show sent Larne through at the expense of Glenavon.

232 days ago, the 2020/21 Irish Premiership belatedly got underway.

We writers, and indeed we fans, are prone to more than the occasional bout of hyperbole. As such, around this time of year we tend to reflect on "a season like no other"... every season.

But seriously, 2020/21 was very much a season like no other, wasn't it?

Played amid the strangest of times, without crowds and with even more fixture disruption than usual during 'frozen pitch postponement season' in January and February. And yet, the product delivered and here we are on the very last day of the campaign.

Larne versus Cliftonville for a place in the Europa Conference League. Alright it's not the world's shiniest competition, but with an attached windfall of over £200,000, this one is mightily important.

Buckle up, here we go for one final hurrah as the curtain closes on, genuinely, a season like no other.
