  1. 'O'Donnell does everything right'published at 20:34 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England 0-0 Scotland

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on Match of the Day

What an effort from Stephen O'Donnell. Eyebrows were raised when he was back in the side and he's kept his place. That is a tremendous save from Jordan Pickford. O'Donnell does everything right there, everything you would want and Pickford matches him. What an effort.

  2. 'Great execution from O'Donnell'published at 20:32 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England 0-0 Scotland

    Neil McCann
Former Scotland winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

What a stop from Pickford because that's going in the bottom corner. Great execution from O'Donnell and a really encouraging move from Scotland.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 30 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Almost a sensational goal for Stephen O'Donnell!

Kieran Tierney and Andy Robertson link down the left, with the former cutting back from the byline to send in a looping cross.

O'Donnell watches it all the way and cracks a volley on target, only for Jordan Pickford to get down and push it away. The ball pops up for Che Adams but he can't react quickly enough and heads wide.

Great save. That was creeping inside the post.

  4. Postpublished at 29 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Another late offside flag as England skipper Harry Kane throws himself at a skidding cross and heads wide of David Marshall's goal.

  5. England's formidable Wembley recordpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England 0-0 Scotland

England have never lost in the finals of a major tournament at Wembley, winning eight times and drawing three games – although they did lose that penalty decider here to Germany after a 1-1 draw in the semi-final of Euro '96.

  6. Postpublished at 24 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

A couple of nice touches from Billy Gilmour on his first international start, but the game is being played at a frantic pace, which probably doesn't suit the diminutive midfielder.

  7. Postpublished at 22 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

An ambitious, dipping shot from 25 yards or so from Kieran Tierney, with his weaker right foot.

Nothing for Jordan Pickford to worry about.

  8. 'Dykes up for it'published at 20:20 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England 0-0 Scotland

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland at Wembley

Lyndon Dykes has won aerial battles against Tyrone Mings and John Stones there within the space of a couple of minutes. He looks brighter than he did against the Czechs, no doubt helped by the presence of a strike-partner in Che Adams.

  9. Postpublished at 18 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Phil Foden is offside as he brings a long ball down with a nice touch and drills a shot just wide. The usual late flag from the assistant ref.

  10. YELLOW CARD (McGinn)published at 16 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Scotland midfielder John McGinn is booked now, but it's not for a bad tackle, it's for mouthing off at the referee.

    Not a particularly smart move.

  11. 'Scotland wobbling'published at 20:16 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England 0-0 Scotland

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland at Wembley

After an encouraging opening 10 minutes, Scotland have just wobbled. Where on earth was the marking on Stones at the corner? Tasty start to the game though. Phillips v McGinn looks a great contest.

  12. Postpublished at 15 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

More afters between Kalvin Phillips and John McGinn. The Spanish referee keeps his cards in his pocket for now.

  13. CLOSE!published at 13 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Scott McTominay is caught in possession near his own penalty area and Raheem Sterling is off like a shot, setting up a shooting chance for Mason Mount, who prods a first-time effort inches wide.

  14. 'Who is picking him up?'published at 20:13 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England 0-0 Scotland

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

David Marshall is rooted, as are the centre-halves. Who is supposed to be picking Stones up? He is up early but fortunately for Scotland his header comes back off the post and falls to a blue shirt.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 12 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

From the corner, John Stones is completely unmarked as he bangs a header against the post.

    A massive let-off for Scotland.

  16. Postpublished at 11 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

England pull the Scottish defence one way, then another, before a Mason Mount shot is deflected wide.

  17. Postpublished at 8 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Some tasty challenges going in as John McGinn now gets bundled over by Kalvin Phillips. That should be a good midfield joust.

  18. Postpublished at 6 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

John McGinn sends England captain Harry Kane tumbling with a late tackle.

The free kick from Declan Rice rolls straight through to Scotland goalie David Marshall.

  19. 'England are rattled'published at 20:06 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England 0-0 Scotland

    Neil McCann
Former Hearts & Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Very good start from Scotland. England are rattled. Steve Clarke is cool as a cucumber, no emotion on his face.

  20. Postpublished at 4 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

A lovely move from Scotland, with some zippy, one-touch passing. Stephen O'Donnell drills in a cross from the right, Che Adams takes a touch and gets a shot off. John Stones blocks in front of his goalkeeper.
