  1. Missed the cutpublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

Spare a thought for Declan Gallagher, David Turnbull and Greg Taylor, who are left out of the matchday 23.

Particularly sore for Gallagher, you would have thought, given he was also idle against the Czech Republic. He was an absolute rock in the play-off final against Serbia after all.

  2. Change of full-backs for Englandpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 18 June 2021
    Breaking

    England v Scotland (20:00)

England boss Gareth Southgate switches up his full-backs for this one, with Reece James and Luke Shaw coming in for Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier.

  4. Schick fed up seeing this goal?published at 18:36 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

Scotland's Euros balloon wasn't quite burst by the opening defeat to the Czech Republic, but it lost a lot of air after waiting 23 years to see our team playing at a major finals.

Patrik Schick scored two very impressive goals - but both were preventable.

Scotland created a good few chances, more than you'd expect at this level, but just couldn't tuck one away to make it interesting. They'll need to be more clinical this evening because I'd be pleasantly surprised if anywhere near the same number of opportunities come along.

  7. 'Starting line-ups imminent'published at 18:23 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

    Alasdair Lamont

Team news will be confirmed shortly. Lots of chatter about starts for Billy Gilmour and Kieran Tierney. Big calls for Steve Clarke for different reasons but as the first few fans begin to filter into the stadium, I think most will back him in that.

  8. How you'd like Scotland to line uppublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

Does that 'do not lose' message from McTominay mean a cagey line-up from Scotland?

Will it be one up top and a packed midfield?

That's certainly not what you lot went for with our squad selector.

Most BBC Sport website readers who chose a team want youngsters Billy Gilmour and Nathan Patterson on from the start.

  9. 'Don't lose, that's first and foremost'published at 18:16 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

Speaking yesterday, midfielder Scott McTominay said the players were still "hurting" from that defeat to the Czechs, and he believes Scotland now cannot afford to lose at Wembley if are to make history by qualifying from the group.

"I think that's an honest assessment," the 24-year-old said. "You go in to win the game but most definitely don't lose, that's first and foremost.

"We have to get a result, it's as simple as that. That's the sole focus of the group. We had 24 hours after the game to digest what happened and the mistakes that were made in front of goal and defending.

"I'm sure you'll see a big reaction, players hungry to win the game and obviously do it for everyone in Scotland."

  10. 'We're off to Wemb-e-lee'published at 18:13 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

As Al says, Scotland fans have just over 3,000 tickets for the big match since Wembley is operating at 25% capacity.

    There is no fan zone.

And yet many, many supporters made their arrangements a long time ago and began travelling down on Thursday, despite warnings they shouldn't unless they had tickets or had organised somewhere to watch the game.

Some estimates have the numbers as high as 20,000.

  11. Party mode or hiding behind the couch?published at 18:11 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

How is the atmosphere building where you are?

I saw more Czech fans than kilted Scots on my way into the office.

Is that because everyone is away to London?

  12. Battle fever buildingpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland at Wembley

Well, I'm here nice and early, mainly to try to avoid the rain and watch Croatia v Czech Republic. But when I arrived just before 1700 there were already hundreds if not thousands of Scots congregating around the stadium's perimeter. Only 3,250 officially have tickets but the Scots have ways of finding extra briefs when they have to! Regardless of the number, they'll make a whole load of noise.

  13. Croatia back in it at Hampdenpublished at 18:08 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

Just as I put that last entry in, Croatia equalise.

  14. Czech Republic in front against Croatiapublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

There is another Group D match going on at the moment at Hampden and the Czech Republic are leading Croatia 1-0 at half-time thanks to a confidently struck Patrik Schick penalty.

That may just scupper our chances of finishing second. Unless, unless...

  15. A welcome return for Tierneypublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

Despite the pre-tournament buzz, the mood across the nation dimmed a little on Monday afternoon when news came through that Kieran Tierney was missing through injury.

The Arsenal defender has been declared fit for this one, so he will almost certainly come straight back in.

Will manager Steve Clarke make any more changes to his starting XI? We'll find out soon enough.

  16. London calling for Scotlandpublished at 18:01 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    England v Scotland (20:00)

We gave Monday's Euros opener a serious build up. And no wonder, since 23 years have passed since Scotland played in a major finals. We all felt a bit flat when it did not go the way we all hoped, but here comes another chance to get back on track - against England at Wembley. It doesn't get much bigger than that, does it?

Our friends south of the border are all over this one too, but we thought we'd bring you coverage from a strictly Scottish perspective too.

We'll have Radio Scotland commentary of the big game, with the team news and all the build up before the action gets started in a couple of hours. Stay with us and keep the faith...
