I think Hartlepool have got out of jail there. I don't think Brad James was strong enough.

    That's harsh on Torquay.

  2. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 20 June 2021

    Hartlepool 1-0 Torquay

A second Torquay goal is ruled out.

Kyle Cameron was climbing a little too much over keeper Bradley James.

GOAL: Hartlepool 1-1 Torquaypublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 20 June 2021

    Kyle Cameron (59 mins)

There it is, Torquay are level.

A looping cross is sent in by Ben Winter and Kyle Cameron towers highest up against Pools keeper Brad James to head the ball into an empty net.

Much better from Hartlepool as Mark Shelton nearly plays in Luke Armstrong but his cross is just intercepted.

    Torquay need to hold firm.

  5. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 55 mins

    Handbags off the ball.

Good referring from Simon Mather who calms the situation down before handing yellows to Rhys Oates and Joe Lewis.

    Hartlepool 1-0 Torquay

Torquay have been successful in two of their previous eight play-off campaigns.

Hartlepool have never gone up this way in their five attempts.

On the pitch, things have a slowed a little. It's all very tense.

    Hartlepool 1-0 Torquay

Hartlepool can't get the ball out of their own half.

All Torquay as Connor Lemonheigh-Evans has a shot which goes well wide.

    Martin Gritton
Ex-Torquay striker on BBC Radio Devon

Torquay are more than capable of getting back into this game and then stamping their authority on it.

They didn't finish second by accident - there are a few tricks up Gary Johnson's sleeve yet.

  9. CLOSE!published at 49 mins

    Hartlepool 1-0 Torquay

    So close!

Dean Moxey sends in another cross which Hartlepool defender Timi Odusina almost turns into his own net.

What a start. Chaos at the back.

Significant tactical change here by Torquay.

Their big striker Danny Wright is now playing as the furthest man up front with Conor Lemonheigh-Evans in behind.

They had been the other way around in the first 45 minutes.

Torquay are starting this half like they started the first - on top.

Armani Little sends in a wicked cross which is only just hacked away.

They've shown a replay of Torquay's disallowed goal on the telly.

It looks like Joe Lewis pushed Rhys Oates as the cross was delivered which Kyle Cameron ultimately headed in.

There is contact, is it a soft one though?

    Martin Gritton

That save from Lucas could be a turning point for the second half. Hartlepool could have been going in 2-0 up.

Torquay's game plan isn't working. They're trying to put the press on but they're getting picked off and passed around and they're looking a little bit ragged.

  17. 'It could have been game over'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 20 June 2021

    HT: Hartlepool 1-0 Torquay

    Eddie Kyle
Ex-Hartlepool assistant manager on BBC Radio Tees

In the last five minutes it could have been game over. There were two good chances for Rhys Oates and he will be disappointed.

But Torquay early on had a couple of chances, so they were in it. But Hartlepool could have killed it off on the half-time whistle.

    That's the last touch too.

What a half of footy. Torquay had an early goal disallowed, and Hartlepool punished their opponents with a proper forward's finish from Luke Armstrong.

The Pools are 45 minutes away from a return to the EFL.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 45+4 mins

    Hartlepool 1-0 Torquay

    Incredible save!

Rhys Oates rises highest and his thumping header is somehow tipped over by Lucas Covolan.

Somehow the Torquay stopper has kept his side in this game.
