Harry Kane needs one more goal to match Gary Lineker's tally of 10 tournament goals for England and he could become just the second England captain to lead the nation to a major final.

"The next game is always the toughest game," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "We did great against Germany and got a great result - but the next toughest game was Ukraine and we did well in that game.

"So now the next hardest game is Denmark. We are playing for the chance to play in a European Championship final and Denmark have been on a great run since the first couple of games.

"We'll probably go into this game as favourites but it won't be an easy game, for sure. We know what Denmark are and what they can bring.

"I try not to let my mind get too far ahead, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it (winning the Euros). But the whole 'playing for England and captaining England' is a dream.

"As a kid growing up you have a vision of what you want to do and what you dream about and this is it - playing for your country and captaining your country at a major tournament, having games at Wembley, scoring goals and winning games."

Harry Kane followed up his goal against Germany with a double in the quarter-final win over Ukraine, but during his goalless start to Euro 2020 he said he didn't stop believing he would prove his doubters wrong.

"I have kind of had to do that my whole career since I was a kid," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I've had to prove people wrong to get to where I am now. I have full belief in who I am as a player and what I can do on the pitch, what I do to help the team.

"It's not so much about proving other people wrong. It's about proving to myself again that I am as good as I can be, I can score at any level, I've done it at any stage.

"When you go three or four games without scoring, you want to score and put that to bed, and at a major tournament it gets heightened even more, but the fact that I have so much self-belief in myself and my team, I don't really let that stuff affect me.

"Of course, when you score in a big game, it is natural the emotions come out and you feel free and a lot of people then say it kick-starts you to score a couple in the quarter-final.

"Whether I score or don't score I always feel I am ready for the nextopportunity. It's great that I am scoring now and obviously [we have] a big semi-final to come but I'll be the same player if I scored or didn't score."

England captain Harry Kane told the BBC's Emma Saunders what it was like to score against Germany and seal the last-16 win at Wembley.

It also broke his duck at Euro 2020 having failed to score in England's three group games.

England manager Gareth Southgate and his players have also been carrying out their media duties, which included this interview with Dan Roan on Monday, where he tells the BBC sports editor that England have a "very special opportunity" to make the country happy when they face Denmark in Wednesday's semi-final.

No sign of any inflatable unicorns among the Italy and Spain players though. They were one of the highlights of England's run to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals and have been a staple of their training camp throughout Euro 2020. Gareth Southgate's boys sure look pretty relaxed before the last four.

Three-time champions Spain survived another scare to beat 10-man Switzerland in a penalty shootout and reach the semi-finals.

Ranked sixth in the world, Spain also needed extra time to defeat Croatia in the last 16 despite leading 3-1 with five minutes of normal time to play.

They were in front in St Petersburg against Switzerland too - midfielder Denis Zakaria deflected Jordi Alba's shot into his own net to give Spain an early lead.

Swiss captain Xherdan Shaqiri equalised following a mistake at the back by Spain but team-mate Remo Freuler was sent off nine minutes later.

Italy set up their semi-final with Spain after edging an exhilarating tie with Belgium in Munich.

The game may not have been a goal feast like some of the last-16 ties but it was an intense battle between two excellent teams playing fantastic football.

Italy have been arguably the best team at the tournament so far, while Belgium are the world's top-ranked team. And the Azzurri's two goals by Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne - which took the team up to 13 consecutive wins and 32 games without defeat - were of the highest quality.

Belgium were given hope late in the first half when Romelu Lukaku scored a penalty, but Italy prevailed.

In case you needed reminding, here are the semi-final fixtures, folks. And both are being played at Wembley, along with Sunday's final:

• England v Denmark (Wed, 20:00)

We had to wait an extra year for Euro 2020, and we're on day 26 of the delayed tournament, but the semi-finals are here... and they include England.
