    Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is likely to miss defending champions Manchester City's opener against Tottenham on Sunday.

    De Bruyne is yet to return to full training due to an ankle injury he sustained while playing at Euro 2020.

    "He's getting better every day but we're still waiting," said Pep Guardiola.

    "He cannot do the full training sessions. We will see what happens in the next days."

    Brentford become the 50th club to play in the Premier League tonight, and the 10th from London.

    The Brentford Community Stadium will be the 60th ground to host Premier League football.

    This will be just their sixth season as a top-flight side, and first since 1946-47.

    The last Premier League debutants to win a home match on the opening day was Hull City when they beat Fulham in 2008-09.

    It's a new Premier League season which means there's plenty of changes.

    Capacity crowds will be allowed following the easing of coronavirus restrictions.

    Brentford are in the competition for the first time, while Crystal Palace, Wolves, Everton and Tottenham start the season with new managers.

    There's also plenty of new signings and a few changes to VAR.

    Brentford's star striker Ivan Toney is fit to start, having missed the final pre-season friendly against Valencia as a precaution because of a neck problem.

    New signing Yoane Wissa could be involved but injured pair Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen are unavailable.

    Arsenal's summer recruits Ben White, Albert Lokonga and Nuno Tavares are in contention to make their debuts.

    Thomas Partey, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel aren't expected to be available until at least September.

    The new Premier League season kicks off right here and it's a London derby at the Brentford Community Stadium.

    The Euro 2020 final was just 34 days ago but it's been 74 years since Brentford and Arsenal last met in the league.

    It's also 17 months since capacity crowds were allowed back in stadiums for a Premier League game.
