He's got nowhere to go though and it's eventually cleared in the six-yard area by Daniel Amartey.
Everton 0-0 Southampton
An early tester for Alex McCarthy in the Southampton goal as Allan hits a low first-time effort through a crowded box. McCarthy sees it late but is well placed to scoop up the ball.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It creates and sets the mood when you see the fans driving to the stadium. You get the butterflies again. Suddenly it’s a game that matters. We felt extra responsibility because it’s been so long without them. They mean so much to us. To have that love from the fans is so important."
On United's performance: "I couldn’t have asked for more. You’re always a bit worried before the first game - fitness-wise have we done enough? Tactics-wise? The sessions have been geared just to this game. It’s been a fantastic day."
On his squad: "I’m very happy with the status at the moment. We waited for Raphael [Varane] to get everything sorted. That meant a lot to the fans, and Jadon [Sancho] will get better and better. We’ve got a few more coming back, so good times."
On Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba: "Of course when Bruno scores three and Paul gets four assists, the headlines are going to be about them two. But for me it’s about the team. Those two can produce the big moments because of what’s around them. Mason [Greenwood]’s development has been great. He’s become a man compared to two years ago."

The lush green turf, the noise, people packed into a grand old stadium, the smell of hot dogs, the smiles and a boo for the referee.
Great to have proper football back, isn't it? It's spine-tingling.
Leicester 0-0 Wolves
Good early pressure from Leicester as James Maddison hunts down Romain Saiss.
Adama Traore is then barged over by Ayoze Perez but Leicester have the ball back within minutes. Wolves haven't got going yet.
Watford 0-0 Aston Villa
It is the start of the post-Jack Grealish era at Aston Villa in the Premier League and they have started well so far - one of their new signings Emiliano Buendía seeing a decent effort charged down.

Romelu Lukaku was very good for us (Everton) and I think now, mentally, the penny's dropped. He knows what he can and can't do, he looks the complete player.
He's slimmed down, he looks fit and mentally focused. I think, coming back, he'll have a point to prove.
James Tarkowski
What a start!
James Tarkowski heads in in the opening minute, converting at the back post from a corner.
But wait...it's ruled out for Tarkowski's push on Neal Maupay.
HOLD ON! The referee is in further consultation with VAR and awards the goal.
Given, Burnley lead.
Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace
The returning Chelsea fans reminding everyone they start the season as the champions of Europe.
Leicester 0-0 Wolves
How great is it to see Raul Jimenez back?
He's sporting a nice black headband for extra protection. Hopefully he can hit the ground running where he left off.
Five games at once? YES. Bring it on.
Hopefully Sham hasn't nicked all the goals in game one...

I think Rafael Benitez needs to start well. Some people will never accept him at Goodison Park, unfortunately.
He has to come out today and try to win over all those ones that are on the fence about his appointment straight away.

Kumaran Ravendradas: Vast majority seem to have ruled out MUFC challenging for the top 3 let alone winning the title. Today was a HUGE warning shot. A warning from Old Trafford as well. Not many will fancy going there this year.

Manchester United's hat-trick scorer Bruno Fernandes: "Great performance by the team. Having the fans back gave them this joy and against a big rival like Leeds. Today was almost a perfect day, we conceded one goal but whatever we won and that is the moment important.
"I am really happy for all the fans, all the fans in the entire world of football. They have the chance to see their clubs and enjoy the games. It is important for society, they deserve this. They deserve some freedom because almost two years it has been tough for everyone.
"We have to do better and perform better all the time. Now this game is gone and from now we have to think game by game. The biggest contender for us for the title is [next opponent] Southampton because if we win against then we are one step closer to winning something and if we lose to them we are one step further.
"The joy is really good (for a hat-trick). I will call my wife and hear my kids saying 'the ball is coming home'. It is unbelievable, you cannot describe this feeling. For me the most important thing is to make my family proud of what I am doing."

The players will get the full backing from the Goodison crowd, but will Rafael Benitez?
The former Liverpool manager must feel a tad strange giving his team talk in the home dressing room and will wonder what lies in store for him, especially if things don't go to plan today.
This will be the first time Benitez has managed a Premier League game for over two years, but you can tell in his pre-season briefings that he has not lost any of his desire to succeed.
What type of football can we expect? "I used to have teams that play well, are well organised, they create chances and they don't concede too many," he said on Friday. "I will try to do that."
