  1. 'More than a few raised eyebrows' at Arteta team selectionpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    Arsenal v Norwich (15:00 BST)

BBC Final Score reporter at the Emirates

More than a few raised eyebrows in the Emirates press box here at Aaron Ramsdale making his first Premier League start for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta gave no hint he was thinking of changing his goalkeeper in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, but after shipping five goals last time out at Manchester City – the Arsenal manager has dropped Bernd Leno to the bench and put his faith in £24m summer signing. Can the former Sheffield United man now stake a claim to be the new Arsenal No.1?

Daniel Cheng: A good line up attacking wise and potentially defence too. Would have liked to have seen Partey start though. Interested to see how Tomiyasu performs at RB and White/Gabriel partnership in the middle. Come on Arsenal!

  3. Arteta pleads for patiencepublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    Arsenal v Norwich (15:00 BST)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Emirates Stadium

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and his team face a crucial examination at home to Norwich City today as The Gunners lie bottom of the Premier League without a point after three games.

And Arteta lays out the situation to Arsenal's fans in his programme notes as he explains the club's transfer strategy "that will need some patience" but accepts: "We are trying to build a medium to long-term project, which also needs immediate results. That only happens in elite sport and most importantly in football.

Arteta must hope his Arsenal side do not test the patience of their fans against the Canaries today.

I’m sitting in the press box at St Mary’s, where Southampton host West Ham.

Not all the Hammers fans are in yet. I was wondering where they were, then I heard a huge cheer outside the ground.

They’re all celebrating Crystal Palace’s goals on the big screen outside!

Look at the shape he is in. If he was a 36-year-old coming to the end of his career, not getting the stats he's getting, then you'd maybe think about it. But he's a machine, so he has to come in and start.
