Bit of afters at Turf Moor. Some of the remaining home fans and some Arsenal fans in the away end have come together and started lobbing insults and other more solid stuff at each other over the barrier in the stand. Sigh.

I thought VAR was supposed to rectify wrong decisions instead of making them in the first place? Oh the irony.

    Mike, London

I think there's a huge risk we label VAR itself as the big problem here, when in reality it's still the refs themselves who are responsible for these baffling and inconsistent decisions - the same refs we'd be handing power back to if we get rid of VAR too...

Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Huge three points for Arsenal. Burnley wasted 45 minutes, the second half was more like them. But they'll have regrets about this game for sure. At the time, I didn't think it was a penalty. I thought Ramsdale was excellent. Clean sheet, another 1-0 win, it is like the Arsenal of old.

Aaron Ramsdale is a happy man. He's going round his team-mates getting high fives and hugs with a big grin on his face. He was good today. Very calm and composed in the face of some aggressive forwards.

Rob Cunningham: Since VAR, the controversy can - mostly - be written off as tedious partisan myopia. This LFC fan would have loved a penalty and red card against Man City but it was just a 50/50, right decision.
